The alarm clock keeps screaming to wake its owner up, repeating the same sound repeatedly until someone presses the button to silence it. Slim, short fingers slide down from the cabinet to the ground as the hand's owner struggles to sit up from her cozy bed. She knows she has to get up for school; being late isn't an option, and she knows it. Her sleepy eyes struggle to open, and she glances at the clock. It's six o'clock.
After washing her face and cleaning her teeth, she goes downstairs to feed her stomach to get "enough nutrients" for her developing body. She doesn't mind whether she gets enough nutrients since she's already a senior in high school. What's the point when she's past the age of growing tall? The chances are slim, especially with her Asian genes.
After breakfast, she only ate an egg and a nutrient bar. Then she packs up her school bag, checking everything she needs. She sighs softly, running her fingers through her hair, school hasn't been easy on her. On the social side, of course, the experience with those people isn't the best yet not the worst either. While being an immigrant, at least she's lucky she hasn't been bullied, she still has use for them because of her excellent grades. Even though she thinks everyone can do it if they try hard enough.
"I swear to god those white ass people are getting on my nerves..."
She mutters under her breath while shutting her eyes tightly, her mind subconsciously picturing the days she had in her school, all the laughing and unsettling smiles making her show a look of grimace. Her eyelids lift and scan everywhere in the living room finding her AirPods. Noticing there's a vast amount of new fake flowers on the desk, her mother must change them, eyes linger on the orange flower, they are Rhododendron, she has always questioned her mother's aesthetic. Her eyes linger on the flower for more than a second, and a feeling of unease starts to rise in her, she lets out a heavy sigh and brushes it away. Then she can hear the faint and soft footsteps coming toward the living room. Turning over to look at her mother, noticing her hands holding the AirPods she was finding. She puts her school bag on and takes the AirPods from her mother's hand.
