“Hi, Wooyoung, and you must be his boyfriend,” the doctor smiled brightly as they entered the room, causing Wooyoung to blush.
“I-I h-he isn’t my- I-I mean he is, b-but like-”
“Yes, I am his boyfriend. We’re here for a pregnancy checkup?” San wrapped his arm around Wooyoung’s waist, smiling.
“Calm down, our act applies here as well,” he whispered, his breath hot on Wooyoung’s ear.
Wooyoung nodded, taking a deep breath before looking at the doctor again. “Yep, he’s my boyfriend.”
“Okay, great! I’m Dr Song, or you can call me Mingi! Did you take a pregnancy test before this?”
“Yeah, I was here a few days ago, and one of your nurses gave me a test to do. So it should be accurate, right?” Wooyoung asked, sitting down on the bed.
He laid down on it, watching as Mingi pulled a machine towards him. He lifted up his black shirt, exposing his stomach.
Mingi pulled out a pair of latex gloves and snapped them on, taking the bottle of gel from the cupboard. He squeezed the cool gel onto Wooyoung’s stomach, grabbing the wand that was attached to the machine. He switched on the machine and put the wand on top of the gel, moving it around.
Wooyoung gasped as images appeared on the screen, his fingers fiddling with one another. He felt someone’s warm hand cover his cold one, relaxing a little instantly.
“So, this is your child…” Mingi said, moving the wand around. “I would say that it looks to be about 12 weeks, so… 3 months.”
Wooyoung remembered his one night stand, that was exactly 3 months ago, at Hongjoong and Seonghwa’s engagement party.
“Did you tell Yunho-ssi about this?” San whispered to Wooyoung, both of them turning to look at Mingi when they heard a tiny gasp escape his mouth.
“What?”
“Oh uh… nothing, um, I just think I know the person you were talking about…” Mingi blushed a shade of bright red, San chuckling a little.
“OH! You’re Song Mingi!” Wooyoung snapped his fingers, having successfully connected the dots.
“Yes…?”
“You’re the guy that Yunho talks about so much!” Wooyoung exclaimed excitedly.
“Yunho talks about me….?”
Wooyoung giggled, nodding his head. Yunho had told him about this one guy that he had been talking to for a while, and that he had caught feelings for him already, but didn’t dare to confess. He didn’t know if Mingi liked him the same way.
But now, Wooyoung could tell that Mingi definitely haboured feelings for Yunho.
“Okay, so, just come in once a month until you’re at 28 weeks and then we’ll increase the number of consultations,” Mingi instructed, cleaning the gel off Wooyoung’s stomach.
“Is there anything we need to be worried about?” San asked, earning an annoyed look from Wooyoung.
Mingi caught it, laughing. “It’s okay, Wooyoung, I get this question from every dad-to-be. So uh, no, just carry on with your life normally and you should be fine.”
“Okay, thank you!” Wooyoung said, walking out of the room. San followed behind him, as they walked to his father’s room together.
“Appa!” Wooyoung exclaimed as he entered the room to see his father awake. “You’re awake!”
His father welcomed him with open arms, patting his head fondly. “Who’s that?” he asked, signalling to San.
“Oh, he’s my boyfriend,” Wooyoung replied.
“Hello, Sir, I am Choi San, Wooyoung’s boyfriend!” San said, extending a hand for his father.
His father stared at San sceptically, pulling Wooyoung down to his ear level. “Is he a chaebol?” he asked.
“Yes.”
“Son, I won’t judge your choice but do be careful, okay?” he said, patting Wooyoung’s shoulder.
Wooyoung nodded, standing back upright. A piece of paper fell out of his pocket and onto his father’s lap, which he picked up to look at it.
“Wooyoung-ah, are you pregnant?” he asked, looking at the receipt.
“WHAT?!” Wooyoung screamed, panicking as he saw the receipt in his father’s hands.
San stepped forward, taking the receipt from the old man. “Yes sir, he is in fact pregnant,” he replied.
Wooyoung’s father sighed as he looked at his son seriously. “Is it his?” he asked, sighing.
When Wooyoung didn’t know how to answer, he felt San put an arm around his back. “Yes, the child is mine.”
His father looked at San, smiling. “Take care of my son for me, please. You look trustworthy,” he pleaded.
San nodded. “Definitely, Sir. You just focus on getting better.”
