feb 2024 and the award for best new artist goes to...
— that's right! just a few seconds ago, camilla rose won best new artist at her first annual grammy awards.
"wow... i-i don't know what to say" she looks around the audience to see tons of talented people looking up at her. her hazel eyes come across a pair of big blue ones, quite similar to the ocean.
"i've dreamt of making music ever since i was a little girl but i never imagined i would be here today" the brunette starts, her eyes begin to fill with tears as her speech moves on. "i want to thank the academy, my team for trusting me and my creativity, the most supportive parents i could have ever wished for, my best friend larri for making life so do-able, and of course, my fans" she takes a slight pause looking at the award in her hand. "you are the real reason i'm here."
the crowd begins to cheer as she waves and exits the stage giving one last thank you, the red rooted girl being the loudest. one thing about billie eilish, she will always cheer the loudest for every other woman in the industry.
camilla made her way back out into the audience to reunite with her parents who greeted her with the warmest hugs. "we are so proud of you mija" her father exclaimed with obvious tears filling his eyes. she laid her head on his shoulder and sunk into his arms.
the rest of the ceremony was quite a blur for her. all she could think about was how she just won her first grammy.
11 year old cami would be ecstatic.
