Prologue: The Beginning

(Mysterious Morning in Chaldea)

The door to Ritsuka Fujimaru’s room creaked open as he stepped out, dressed in a plain white T-shirt and black pants. Despite the serenity in his demeanor, the weight of his responsibilities as Chaldea's last Master always loomed over him. Waiting outside his door was Koyanskaya, casually leaning against the wall, her fox-like ears twitching slightly in amusement.

“Good morning, my dear Master,” she purred, her voice carrying a dangerous playfulness. “Another day, another chance for you to charm the masses. Tell me, does the burden of being everyone’s favorite keep you awake at night, or is it just the nightmares from Lostbelt 7?”

Ritsuka sighed, offering her a small, tired smile. “Good morning, Koyanskaya. Do you really have nothing better to do than wait outside my door to tease me?”

Her smirk widened. “Tease? Oh no, I’m merely ensuring you don’t accidentally agree to marry half of Chaldea’s Servants out of politeness. Someone has to keep you in check. Or another beast may kidnap you again.”

He raised an eyebrow, leaning slightly closer. “Should I be thanking you, then? How selfless of you, Koyanskaya.”

For a brief moment, her confidence faltered, her cheeks flushing faintly. “Don’t flatter yourself, Fujimaru. I’m just doing my job as your ever-dedicated secretary. You’d be lost without me. Director goredolf asked me to protect you so random beast won't come after you.”

Ritsuka chuckled. “Well, in that case, thank you for your service. Now, what’s on today’s schedule?”

She straightened up, brushing a strand of hair from her face. “You’re due for a summoning ritual. After beast incident, Director Goredolf and Sion have decided we need to strengthen Chaldea’s forces. So let’s not keep everyone waiting, shall we?”

As they walked through Chaldea’s pristine halls, they arrived at the summoning chamber, where familiar faces were already gathered.

(The Summoning Chamber, Control room beside)

“Good morning, Senpai!” Mashu greeted warmly, her ever-loyal presence a comfort.

Da Vinci waved enthusiastically. “Ritsuka! You’re looking surprisingly well after two days off. I wasn’t sure if you’d actually rest or sneak off to train.”

Sion adjusted her glasses, her analytical gaze fixed on him. “Good to see you in one piece, Fujimaru. Though I must remind you that two days of recovery is insufficient for someone with your workload. You got recently kidnapped by a Beast remember, Don't overdo yourself.”

Before Ritsuka could respond, Director Goredolf took center stage, puffing up his chest in a show of authority. “Ah, Fujimaru! Finally, you’re here. I’ve been waiting to give you a piece of my mind! After the beast kidnapping incident. I decided to talk with you about future of this organisation.”

Ritsuka blinked in surprise. “Is something wrong, Director?”

“Wrong? Everything is wrong!” Goredolf began pacing dramatically. “You returned from a beast as if you’ve just come back from a leisurely stroll! Do you have any idea how many people are worried about you? You’re not just our Master we have—you’re the lynchpin holding this entire organization together! If something happened to you, Nouvm Chaldea would collapse into chaos!”
