17| Tune Jo Na Kaha

Mahnoor cut the cake while everyone around her cheered and clapped for her.

Since the Hassans were unable to attend the ceremony, they decided to throw her a party.

" Were so proud of you Maha "

Fabia kissed the top of her head and Adil hugged her tightly.

" Maha api !!! "

Ayat jumped on her and it took Maha less than a second to pull her up in her arms.

" Maine aur Dania ne aapke liye bohot saare gifts banaye hai. "

Her heart melted and she kissed both the girls' cheeks.

" Thank you babies. "

The lavish dinner had her smiling ear to ear and she couldn't be happier. She decided that this was the right time to tell everyone that she would be moving out soon. 

" Khala, mujhe aap sab se kuchh share karna hai. "

As she drew everyone's attention, Shahzain raised his brow, eyes locked with her. Though no one said anything, they had noticed the slight change in their behaviour ever since Maha had returned after her completing her college. 

" Aap sab ne mujhe bohot pyaar diya hai, ammi baba ke jaane ke baad aap hi mere liye meri family ho. But I want to move out. "

Their smiled dropped making her feel bad, she contemplated wether she picked the wrong timing to tell this to everyone.

" Move out ! Kyu Maha, bachcha kisi ne kuchh kaha tumse. "

" Nahi khala but bohot samay se mai soch rahi thi. It's been a long time. "

The situation got tense and the kids seemed to be upset by the revelation. Zeenat decided to talk to her alone later.

" Let's get done with this. Roshni is going to guide the interns and we can compare the sales for both the teams. "

Shahzain told everyone. The meeting room had been bustling with constant yelling and discussions since morning. They had decided to expand their company and Shahzain has drowned himself in work.

His mind would occasionally wander to Mahnoor as he knew his mother talked to her today.

He understood why she wanted to do this but it doesn't mean it doesn't annoy him.

" Sir Commissioner Wahaj is here. He wants to meet you. "

Shahzain asked them to send the commissioner to his cabin.

" Mr Hassan, mai aap se kaafi din se milne ki koshish kar raha hu. "

" I'm sorry, I've been busy with work. But I'll try to manage my time better. How is the case going. "

" Mazaar drugs smuggle karna bhi shuru kar chuka hai. Koi itna kaise fir sakta hai ! Hamare paas kuchh witnesses hai leking solid evidence ke bina ham koi case initiate nahi kar sakte. "

Shahzain let out a sigh, he was worried because ever since Mahnoor left for college, he had been trying to get track of Mazaar. He had gone underground initially and only resurfaced a year ago. He wanted to put that man behind the bars.

" I'll take your leave now. I wanted to leave these files for you. Un witnesses ki saari information isme hai. I have to go to the headquarters today. "

Just as Shahzain was about to turn his car, he saw Mahnoor walking with a guy and another girl, almost her age.

He drove towards them and Mahnoor looked at him and turned to her friends, explaining something to them.

" Tum yaha kya kar rahi ho ? Raat ke 10 baje rahe hai. "

He turned to the other and acknowledged them but Mahnoor held his hand and immediately said,

" I needed a ride, I couldn't get a cab. "

He realised her hands were cold and thought how she must've had to walk in cold.

" Hmm. Baitho gaadi mein. "

He turned to the other two,

" Do you guys need me to drop you somewhere ?! "

He asked politely but they refused saying, they live nearby and even though he felt something was wrong but he didn't dwell on it.

" Mind telling me what you were doing out alone at this area. "

He asked when he turned the wheel. Maha fiddled with her fingers and looked outside the window while she lied.

" I was asking people about the the newly developed solar panels. "

He gave her a glare that said ' really ' and she took let out a sigh and told him,

" Seriously ! Ever since I came back, mujhe mauka hi nahi mila to go and explore. I was walking around. Those two were my old friends. "

She sounded sure and he was not in mood to press it.

" You know what, it's fine. Why don't you tell me what happened with Ammi today ? "

He wanted to know if she was actually going to move into her new home anytime soon.

" We talked. I told her that ab mai khud ko establish karna chahti hu. You've seen my new place, it's not that far. I just want to start from the start you known "

She was happy and he liked how excited she was and didn't have the heart to stop her.

" Mahi I wanted to talk to you about something. "

" Haa bolo "

" I've been tailing Mazaar. "

The sentence was enough to wipe the smile off of her face and she raised her brows.

He looked at her and said,

" Look I am not sure if we're gonna get him but with the commissioner on my side, we have been trying to get evidence. I wanted you to know because you deserve it. "

She simply looked at him, still not sure wether she should tell him the truth. Maha knew Shahzain would not let her dig on it because it was unsafe.

" If you want to know about it, I can share it all to you. "

She decided to keep things to herself for now and tell him everything later.

" Thank you for doing this for me Shahzain. It means a lot. "

She laced thier fingers together and he couldn't deny how nice her hand felt in his.
