The wedding ceremony unfolded before me like a distant dream, its significance lost in a haze of obligation and duty. I couldn't believe it was my wedding day - the day I was supposed to cherish, to remember for a lifetime. But nothing could have prepared me for the crushing reality that lay before me. Nothing at all.

The wedding ceremony unfolded before me like a distant dream, its significance lost in a haze of obligation and duty. I couldn't believe it was my wedding day,the day I was supposed to cherish, to remember for a lifetime. But nothing could have prepared me for the crushing reality that lay before me. Nothing at all.

As I sat in my wheelchair, a constant reminder of my limitations, I felt like a spectator in my own life. The man who now stood beside me, my husband, towered above the other men, his voice booming as he talked in another language with our guests. You wouldn't miss the authority that he had and the due respect everyone had for him.

Tears pricked at the corners of my eyes as I gazed at my hand that had a big diamond ring , wondering what the future held for me. Would he ever let me go? The uncertainty hung over me like a dark cloud, threatening to consume me whole. I had always envisioned a different life for myself, one where I was free to make my own choices, to pursue my own passions. But that was not to be. Instead, I was bound to this man, this family, and this life. And now, as I sat here, surrounded by the trappings of a wedding celebration, I couldn't help but feel like a pawn in a much larger game.

As I finally met his family, I couldn't help but notice the dynamics at play. His mother, a formidable figure, seemed to be the matriarch, exuding an air of authority and control. Her presence commanded attention, and it was clear that she was the glue that held the family together.

In contrast, his father appeared to be a more subdued figure, with a gentle demeanor that seemed almost fragile compared to his wife's robust personality. His soft-spoken nature and warm smile put me at ease, and I found myself drawn to his kind and affable presence.

He had seven brothers and a little sister who was a chatterbox. From our brief interactions, I could tell she was curious and lively. However, when she asked how I met her brother, referring to him as 'the devil,' but one of his brothers quickly whisked her away. I was relieved, but I also noticed the way everyone's eyes lit up with affection when they looked at her. It was clear that she was the beloved baby of the family, and that they would do anything to protect her.

Despite their quirky dynamics, I sensed a deep love and loyalty within the family. They might be a little unconventional, but they were far from 'mad' as I had initially thought.

Adrik's smile was like a knife to my heart as he asked, 'How are you enjoying your wedding, Mrs. Molchalins?' It was a cruel irony, considering the circumstances that had led me to this moment. The memory of him holding a gun to my mother's head, forcing me to agree to this marriage, was still seared into my mind. And now, he had the audacity to ask me how I was enjoying the wedding, as if it were a genuine celebration of love and commitment.
"I forced a faint smile and replied, 'Fine.' The word felt like a betrayal, a lie spoken to appease the man who had manipulated me into this marriage. I feared upsetting him, feared what he might do if I said no.

Adrik's eyes gleamed with anticipation as he said, "I'm glad you're enjoying yourself. Just a little bit longer, and we can head home." The thought of being alone with him, filled me with dread.

Suddenly, a loud boom shook the air, and Adrik's body covered mine, shielding me from harm. I was trapped, unable to see what was happening. Panic set in as I struggled to free myself. Finally, I managed to push my wheelchair to the side, and the scene before me was horrific.

Adrik's mother stood, a smoking gun still clutched in her hand. On the floor, a waiter lay motionless, a bullet wound to his head. The room was eerily calm and collected, as if the brutal act of violence had been a mere inconvenience. The guests seemed frozen in shock, their faces pale and expressionless. Adrik's mother, still holding the gun, stood tall, her eyes flashing with a fierce intensity. The waiter's lifeless body lay on the floor, a stark reminder of the brutality that had just unfolded.

This thing tried to ruin my dress, she said calmly, as if the waiter's death was an inconvenience. Two men swiftly appeared, dragging the body away. The room remained eerily calm, the guests frozen in shock.

Adrik slowly stood up, his eyes fixed on his mother. "How many times have I told you not to stress yourself?" he asked, his voice calm and collected.

His mother waved her hand dismissively. "Don't worry about me, i flayed some morons last night," she said, her voice dripping with nonchalance.

I felt a chill run down my spine as I realized the true extent of Adrik's family's ruthlessness. And I was now a part of this family.

But you might need to worry about your bride, Adrik's mother said, her eyes glinting with amusement. "She looks like she's just seen a ghost."

Adrik chuckled and wrapped a reassuring arm around my shoulders. "Dear, this is perfectly normal in our family," his mother continued, her voice dripping with sarcasm. "Welcome to the family."

Adrik's eyes narrowed, a hint of warning in his voice. "Mom, don't scare my wife. She'll learn soon enough.

Backing off, Adrik's mother smiled sweetly and reached out to touch my cheeks, her fingers cold and clammy against my skin. "Yes, she will learn," she whispered, her breath tickling my ear. "And soon, she'll be one of us.

Adrik's father strode into view, his eyes scanning the room before settling on the scene before us. "I saw our men dragging a body out," he said, his voice firm but controlled. "I hope you're not responsible for that, my love," he added, his gaze narrowing slightly as he looked at Adrik's mother. No, I'm not," Adrik's mother replied, her voice innocent and sweet, but her eyes glinting with amusement. "I just... rearranged the decor," she added, gesturing to the spot where the waiter's body had lain. Her reply transported me back to the first time I saw her at my church. My initial impression of her was that of a kind, gentle woman the epitome of warmth and compassion. Her husband, on the other hand, had seemed cold and calculating, with an air of superiority that made me uneasy. But now, I realize that it was all a facade, a carefully constructed mask that hid the true nature of the people behind it.

I couldn't help but wonder what people like this were doing in a church. Were they seeking redemption, or just pretending to be something they're not? Did they think that attending Sunday service would wash away their sins, or were they just using it as a cover for their true nature?

I'm sure my son would take care of you, and we would be expecting grandchildren soon, right?" the father asked, a hint of expectation in his voice.

The thought of having an intimate relationship with Adrik, let alone bearing his children, not only frightened me but also filled me with a sense of dread and revulsion.

Да, конечно, adrik said, I didn't know what he said and now I don't care but he's word bought smiles to both his parents face. Giving me an idea of what he said.

We would be taking our leave now," Adrik said, his voice low and polite. "My wife must be tired."

He offered me his arm, and I took it, still feeling a sense of unease. We bid farewell to his parents, who smiled and nodded, their eyes glinting with a knowing light.

As we walked out of the grand hall, the cold night air hit me like a slap in the face. Adrik led me to a sleek black car, where a chauffeur stood waiting. He carefully lifted me out of my wheelchair and settled me into the car. The chauffeur folded up my chair and stowed it in the trunk.

The car glided smoothly away from the curb. The silence between us was oppressive, heavy with unspoken words. I stared out the window, watching as the city lights blurred together. Adrik's eyes were fixed on me, but I refused to meet his gaze.
