Chapter 1~
MELANIE NICKS held onto her sword as she was swordfighting with Luke. He had her against a tree his sword pointed at her chest. She smirked at him he raised an eyebrow as she kicked the sword out of his hand. "Hey, Hey that's not fair." He said and Melanie smiled. "Like you always said Life isn't fair." She replied and Luke rolled his eyes as their swords clashed against one another as she went for a spinning attack kicking his leg causing him to fall. She laughed. "Gotcha!" She said and he rolled his eyes.
"Come on we better get back to Camp before it gets too dark." He said and she nodded taking his hand helping him up and they headed back to Camp Half-Blood together he walked besides her, admiring her as they walked back to Camp Half-Blood. When they arrived they went there separate ways to there own cabins and when Melanie turned around to wave back at him he was watching her walk away. "See you tomorrow Castellan." She says to him. "See you tomorrow Nicks." He replied as she then entered her cabin. The Persephone cabin.
She was allowed in both the Hades and the Persephone cabin but stuck too the Persephone cabin. She headed upto her room and laid on the bed. She couldn't be catching feelings for Luke? Could she?

The next morning the early bustle of campers all had one thing on there minds and that was the newbie who had apparently killed a Minotaur. Probably one her father sent but she shrugged it off as she put her sword into its sheath. She then headed out of the cabin pulling the door shut. She met up with Luke who was showing the new kid around. "And that's Melanie Nicks, she's the first ever child of a god and goddess. Hades and Persephone." Luke said and the blonde looked at her in shock and awe. "Be warned she's good with a sword." Luke says and Melanie laughed.
"So this is the kid who killed the Minotaur, he's a bit scrawny." Melanie says. "He's twelve Mel." Luke defended. "He has a name and it's Percy." The kid says. "Huh it talks back too." Melanie says rolling her eyes. "Be warned kid you wanna make friends around here, don't be sarcastic." Melanie says barging past Percy and Luke sighed. "Sorry about her she's always a bit ratty with new kids." Luke says. Melanie rolled her eyes as she met with Harper. "Have you met that scrawny kid?" Melanie asks Harper. "Who, Percy Jackson?" Harper replied. Melanie nodded and Harper smiled. "Yeah I've met him and like you I don't like him." Harper said.
"Thank you, Luke thinks he's a perfect person." Melanie says. "And why do you care what Luke thinks?" Harper asks. "I don't." Melanie replied defensively. "Are you starting to fall for him?" Harper asks. "Eww of course not he's disgusting." Melanie says as she wrapped her arm around Harper. Harper snickers. "Really I see the way you look at him." She says. "That's called a death stare sweetheart you'll get used to it." Melanie replied as she watched Luke with Percy rolling her eyes.
