The Dinner
T
aehyung invited Jimin and Jungkook over for dinner. Asher, a top-notch chef, found a pink apron with Pikachu on it while shopping. Taehyung watched as Asher multitasked in the kitchen, whisking cream, preparing chicken and rice, and cleaning up simultaneously. It was a unique sight that could only be found in Taehyung's home.
Initially, Asher was reluctant to cook, but as soon as Jimin was mentioned, he listed several dishes he would prepare for dinner. Most of the dishes were decided by Asher himself, and Taehyung enjoyed every moment of it. The older man was so engrossed in cooking that he didn’t even realize how much he had changed due to the presence of one small, charming guy.
When the doorbell rang, Taehyung dashed to open the door, forgetting about the pink apron, the cream smeared on his face, and the sprout of hair sticking up on his head. Taehyung insisted that the apron would keep his hair out of his eyes while he tied it back with a pink rubber band.
He opened the door only to find a bunny-like guy standing there, beaming. "Hello, sir. Thank you for inviting me," he said. Asher frowned but welcomed him inside, then returned silently to the kitchen. His dejected demeanour was evident in his walk. Jungkook greeted Taehyung and settled on the couch, chatting about random topics.
A few minutes later, the doorbell rang again. Asher rushed to open it, his breath hitching when he saw Jimin standing there with an awkward smile. "Hey," Asher whispered first. "Hey," Jimin replied in a similar tone. Taehyung giggled at their cute interaction and lost it when he saw Jungkook’s amazed reaction, mouth agape. Taehyung turned to Jungkook, who looked at him with wide eyes, silently asking what was happening. Taehyung simply winked, and somehow, Jungkook understood.
Jimin sat confusedly with Taehyung and Jungkook, who were giggling like teenage girls, while Asher, in the kitchen, was supposed to focus on cooking but instead found himself staring at Jimin. He even accidentally cut his finger a little.
"Dinner is ready," Asher called from the kitchen. The young men began helping to set the table. "Where do I put these extra plates?" Jimin asked Asher, who was nearby. Asher’s expression was akin to a deer caught in headlights as he placed a bowl of rice. "There, near the salt shaker," he managed to reply. Jimin placed the plates down and took a seat at a nearby chair. Asher lingered near Jimin and eventually sat beside him.
Jungkook took a bite of chicken and moaned, savouring the taste. Every dish was cooked with extra care. They ate in silence, giving compliments here and there.
..
The clock was ticking in the living room, but today, it was extra loud. Jimin and Jungkook left after eating dinner and Asher went to his room to take a shower. Taehyung was in the kitchen washing the dishes. He was recollecting his conversations with his new friends. It was the first time he had such a wonderful time with his friends. Back at home, he wasn't allowed to make friends but now he seems to enjoy his new life.
At the top of the building in front of the apartment complex stood a man with his hands in his pocket. His eyes observe all three of them through their window. "They are enjoying their lives. Makes me more excited to turn their lives upside down. " he licked his lips in anticipation.
"What do you say, brother?" He said to the man who appeared beside him. "Don't call me that Erwin. You are just a criminal." The brother said. His tone was sharp, sending a shiver down his spine.
"Woo, scary. " Erwin mocked his brother with a smile and disappeared in thin air. The brother jumped off the building and landed on the road, totally oblivious to others. It was like he was invisible. Then his eyes met hers. He walked to her and patted her head affectionately. "What are you doing here, cherry?" He asked her.
"Boss you promised to take me to that restaurant." Cherry huffs in annoyance with the man forgetting about the promise. "Oh right. I apologize, my lady, for causing inconvenience. Let's go now. It's still open."
