When I woke up I was in the nurse's office. Someone was holding my hand. I opened my eyes and saw Cory.

"What happened?" I said staring at him.

"Jordan 'accidentally'-" He said quoting the word accidentally. "put his foot behind you and you tripped with your back. It isn't something something serious but it could have been."

I felt my back ache really bad.

"How many hours have I been here?" I asked rubbing my eyes.

"Thirty minutes."

"Oh. And you were here with me?"

"Yeah." He said and grinned to me.

"Thank you. I appreciate that. Are you new in this school?" I asked him.

"Yes I'm a transfer student from Canada." That explains why he is here in the first place. He didn't know anything about me.

"I love Canada."

"Really?"

"Yes. I have been there once. Four years ago. Canadians are so polite and kind. Unlike other people."

He let out a slight chuckle. "Don't say that. Canadians can be mean too. It's human."

"Is it your first day here?" He nodded. "Poor kid. I mean look at you. You're talking to a loser. Great way to start you new school life."

"It could have been worse." I burst out laughing and he laughed along with me.

"I think we should better get to class. What do you have now?"

"Umm...I have Art."

"Great.Me too." I said and we walked away.

We entered the classroom and sat together. The teacher explained our project which was about Pablo Picasso. So we had to pair up.

"You want to do it together?"

"Sure. We have two weeks, we can do it on Saturday."

"Yes. Umm... Do you um have a Valentine?" he said rubbing his back.

"No, I don't."

"Me neither. Do you want to go to the cinema with me? I mean not like a date, just two people who don't have a Valentine.Or like a blind a date."

"Sorry, but Valentine's day isn't my thing. And releationships generally. I just didn't have any releationships in the past so I'm kinda naive."

"It's okay. I get it." he said and smiled sympathetically.

"Thanks." I muttered.

"You don't have to be afraid just because I'm the first person to ask you out-"

I cut him off. "Whoa I never said something like that. I had offers but I turned them down because most of them are really stupid."

"Okay." He grabbed a pen and wrote down his phone number at my notebook. "Here. If you ever need me, a text is enough."

"I don't have a cellphone."

"Are you kidding me?" I shook my head in denial. "Can I ask why?"

"I don't need one. There are people in this world who don't have food or even water."

"Alright mom. I eat all of my food." I chuckled at that. "Are you an ecologist, too?"

"Yeah. I,also, donate money to charities. I give my old clothes and shoes to the church and last but not least I volunteer at many things, such as at summer I help at the local library and an animal shelter."
