"Ready?" Liam asked me.

"Yes. Can you please give me some details about my new family?"

"Not really, wait and you'll see. Hop in." he said and I did.

When he stopped in front of a house not away from my school, I understood this would be my house from now on.

"Here we are." He informed me and we both got out from the car.

We knocked the door. The house was paint white and it had a couch and a swing chair in the porch. It had a nice lawn, too, with beautiful flowers. It reminded me of some romantic houses.

An old woman, probably, around 65 opened the door. She had bright blue eyes and silver hair. She wore a beautiful pink dress and a white cardigan. She was thin and of average height.

"Hello darling!" she said cheerfully. "You must be Diane."

"Yes I am. Nice to meet you." I said and extended my hand for a handshake.

"I'm Blake Dalen." She said and shook my hand. "Please, do come in."

In front of the door were stairs. To my right was a kitchen and to my left was a living room, which was simply amazing. There were two modern brown couches. The room was painted a light yellow color. There was a table in front of the couches and a small piece of furniture with a TV on top of it. I could also see a massive library with not just books, but vinyl records and a vinyl-record-player.

A man at his late 60's came close to me. He kind of looked like his wife, although his eyes were brown.

"She looks exactly like our little Emma!" he said in admiration. "Excuse me. My name is Josh Dalen. It's a pleasure to meet you." He said shaking my hand.

"Nice to meet you too. I'm Diane." I said smiling.

"Please take a seat and I'll bring the cookies I just made." Blake said and went straight to the kitchen.

"Um. Sorry, but you said I looked like Emma, right?" I asked and he nodded. "Who is she?"

"She was our granddaughter." He said and sighed sadly. "She was at your age, when she died. She" he paused for a second contemplating. "Her family and she were killed in a plane accident."

"I'm so sorry." I said. Way to go Diane. "She must have been very special."

"So Diane. Talk to me about you."

And I did. I told him everything he should know about me. When I told him about the incident that marked all my life with the girl I had beat up, he just laughed making us laugh as well.

"What's your final decision Diane?" Liam asked me.

"I don't know. I think they are too perfect for me." They all laughed and I grinned.

"We are definitely keeping her. Welcome to the family!" Josh said hugging me tightly.

I hugged Liam good-bye and thanked him for everything.

Blake decided to show me around the house. She took me into a little tour as she said. The first room was the kitchen, which had nothing special, just a plain kitchen. Then we went upstairs. There were two bathrooms, one of which was connected to my bedroom. The first one, which was their bathroom, had a large bathtub, a sink and two cupboards with different stuff. My bathroom was incredible. It had both bathtub, but not that huge, and a shower. Their bedroom was a splendid room with a king sized bed and a large wooden wardrobe. There were two night stands and there was a picture of a young couple. It was a black and white photograph, however I could see and feel her warm and beautiful eyes. God! She was so beautiful. She still is just now she's more tired.

Last but not least, we went to my now bedroom. When she opened the door, I couldn't believe in my eyes.

"That's the room you'll have." Blake put her hand in my back urging me to go inside.

"Blake I can't." I took a deep breath. "This is too much for me. I mean at my other houses, my bedroom was always the guestroom. A bed, a little wardrobe, a desk and a window. Nothing else. I can't live here." I turned to face her.

"I'm sorry, but I told her. She wouldn't listen though. She always does what she wants!" Who is she talking about? "My younger daughter, Ivy, is a designer. She decorated your room. She said it's everything a girl your age needs. I told her that you might be different but she insisted."

"Your daughter decorated the room? It's perfect, but-"

"Then why don't you like it?" she intruded me.

"I like it, but-"

"Then it's yours."

"Thank you." I hugged her tightly.

"Diane sweetheart. As much as I love your hugs I can't breathe." She said and I pulled away.

"Sorry." I whispered grinning.

"Enjoy your room. I'm going to cook the lunch. If you need anything just say my name."

"Um. Blake can I call you mom?"

She looks taken aback by what I just said, just like me, but she smiles and nods her head. "Of course you can call me whatever you want to." She said with a last smile and left.

My room had a two sized bed with floral sheets. There was a desk with a wheel chair and on top of it were placed notebooks, pens and office supplies. There were some paintings in the walls. The first one showed the moon and its reflection on the water. The other one showed the space with a planets and stars. The other five showed two girls always doing something, like shopping, watching the sunset and other. The room was painted lilac and there was a chandelier hanging with lots of colors. There was a door and I opened it to see where it was leading. Oh my holly Percy Jackson and THE OLYMPIANS! A freaking walk-in closet. Like Barbie's closet or Carrie Bradshaw's! If I was a cartoon, my jaw would be dropped to the ground. There were clothes hanging everywhere and shoes and accessories. I could see dresses, skirts, jeans, T-shirts and others. On the other side of the wall where shoes were placed I could see sneakers, flats and ever freaking high-heels. Scarfs, necklaces, bracelets, rings and even a collection of bags. There was also a white big drawer. The first drawer had lipsticks and lip balms, mascaras, eye-liners and yeah, make-up stuff. The second one had a collection of nail polishes and the third one was full of other make up stuff, as well.

I felt a bit dizzy so I got outside and what I saw instantly made me scream.

Blake and Josh came upstairs looking at me in terror.

"What happened? Are you hurt?" Blake asked me trying to find out if I was hurt. I pointed the huge library behind them to show them what made me scream. To be honest I was thinking how they did this. I mean it's not that easy to build a library fixture on a wall. And it was full of books. How was I supposed to take a book from the upper shelves?

"Relax, honey." Josh said giving me an assuring smile.

"Why did you do that?" I asked.

"We" Blake started explaining. "We didn't do anything. This room belonged to our daughters. Most of the thing here are theirs. The desk, the paintings, some clothes, shoes or accessories. The library belonged to both of them, so it's them who filled it with books. Honey, you don't have to feel guilty or something." She said caressing my cheek. "Sometimes things seem so luxurious, but in reality they might be the simplest thing."

"I don't know what to say." I said tears escaping my eyes. "I love you guys." I said hugging both of them.

"We love you too." They both said in unison.

"Excuse me. I need to check up on the food." Blake said tears welling up on her eyes and left.

"She hasn't fully recovered our daughter's death. I know it's really hard but we have to move one. Adopting you was a big step."

"Thank you so much. It's too good for me to be true."

"Can I ask you something Diane?" he asked and I nodded. "Do you believe in karma?"

"I don't know."

"Then you should consider it. According to what you told me you gave almost everything you had for people who needed them. Now God might be repaying you." he said smiling.
