here is a scene that originally has never been written in any of my art related fics before. it's the house sequence where he kills the family in the beginning of the movie, so we're gonna get pretty fucking dark here. that aside, i am excited for you to see this chapter because this is where we have our reunion for reader and art finally!

WARNINGS: murder, gore, breaking and entering, cannibalism, mutilation, nightmares, body parts and blood, the murder of children (art is a meanie), mass murder, art seeing how many points he can get with all these bodies he's catching, bloody kisses from art (literally cuz it's after he's been eating bloody cookies), art shenanigans but they're super dark here, soul bonds between a human and a demon, reader is forced to see her entire family and boyfriend get horribly slaughtered :(, kidnapping.

"Honey, I'm so sorry about that...I shouldn't have suggested that we go there" Nick had apologized for probably the 100th time since they'd left the house of his close friends. The car ride had been uncomfortable and silent as the woman resorted to staring out at the passing scenery, her stomach in a tangle of queasy knots as the flurry of emotions whirled around her head like a swarm of angry wasps. She kept replaying Jonah's words like they were a broken record, thinking that maybe she really was a nuisance to everyone around her simply because she couldn't let go of a dead man from five years ago. Though, he was more of a haunting creature to her than a man.

(y/n): hey, sie. sorry to bother u, i know you're settling in with your family...it's just that i've been feeling off lately. have you?

She had sent the cryptic message over to Sienna, hoping that she wouldn't be alone in her feelings of despair and guilt. It was like she was a puppet being held by extremely tight strings, pulled this way and that by everybody who thought they knew what was best for her. The darkening thoughts in her mind had terrified her to the point of her considering being locked away in some institution somewhere where she could feel like she was actually where she belonged. Miles County certainly wasn't a place she felt connected to in quite some time. A town plagued by the presence of a haunting shadow, forever clasping his claws around it like it was just a display snow globe and he was the one who crafted it.

"It's not like it's new, Nick. I'm used to being looked at as if I'm the problem, like I chose to have my life torn apart by that...monster" (Y/n) felt the onslaught of tears beginning to fall from her eyes like a heavy raincloud. "He took everything from me and crushed it between his blood stained hands. And I let him do it because I'm a fucking coward and I can never forgive myself for that" She furiously wiped her tears away, refusing to make eye contact with him as they traveled along the dark streets.

Nick tightened his grip on the steering wheel, green eyes narrowed. "You think you're such an awful person but all you did was survive, (Y/n). Nobody could imagine the pain and the loss that you've been through and that's why they chose to make this asshole famous. You are a strong woman, a voice for the ones who have fallen tragically. They can't speak for themselves but you can, these hallucinations and these nightmares? I'm not going to push you away for having those. That's a normal response to something like this. I'll always be here for you even if you don't want me to be" His sweet words seemed to seep into the beginnings of the darkness pouring into her heart. "So fuck Jonah, he might be my friend but you're my partner and you always matter more" He added firmly.
