Felicia's POV:

I hear their footsteps before I see them. Emma's voice is still hiccupping with sobs, and then Arizona's steady, calm tone cuts through the noise. My stomach drops.

"Felicia," Arizona says firmly as she walks into the room. I keep my face buried in the blanket, hoping she'll just go away, but of course, she doesn't.
"Sit up," she says, her voice leaving no room for argument.
I don't move at first, gripping the blanket tighter, but then she sighs. "Felicia, now."
Reluctantly, I push myself up, still refusing to look at her. Emma's standing a few feet away, sniffling and rubbing her arm like I really hurt her.
"What happened?" Arizona asks, crouching down to meet my eye level.
I stare at the floor, pressing my lips together.
"I need you to talk to me," she says, her voice softer now. "Why did you hit Emma?"

"She wouldn't leave me alone," I mutter, barely above a whisper.

"That's not a good reason to hit someone," Arizona replies, frowning.

"I told her to go away," I snap, the words tumbling out before I can stop them. My chest feels tight again, and the tears are back, stinging my eyes.

"And that's fine," the blonde woman assures, staying calm even though I'm yelling. "But hitting her isn't. We don't solve problems like that here."

I want to yell that it's not fair, that I didn't mean to, but I don't. Instead, I glare at the floor, my fists clenched in my lap.

"You're going to apologize to Emma," Arizona demands firmly.

"What?" I whip my head up to look at her.

"You heard me," she says. "Right now."

I glance at Emma, who's still sniffling and looking at me with those big, watery eyes. My stomach churns, but I stay quiet, shaking my head.

"Felicia," Arizona says, her tone sharper now.

"I don't want to," I mumble.

"You don't have to want to," Arizona answers. "You have to do it because it's the right thing to do."

I cross my arms, my throat burning as the tears spill over. "It's not my fault!" I shout. "She—she wouldn't stop bothering me!"

"I know you're upset."  Her voice is steady but unyielding. "I know you haven't adjusted to the whole situation yet and everything is still a little too much for you but you still need to take responsibility for what you did. Now apologize."

I squeeze my eyes shut, hoping if I just don't say anything, they'll leave me alone. But they don't. Arizona waits, and I know she won't stop until I say something.

"Sorry," I finally mutter, so low I'm not even sure they hear it.

"Look at her and say it properly," the blonde insists.

I feel like I'm going to break apart, but I force myself to lift my head and look at Emma. She looks scared, and the guilt hits me like a punch.

"I'm sorry," I say, louder this time.

Emma nods, wiping her face with the back of her hand. She doesn't say anything, and I don't blame her.

"Thank you," Arizona says, standing up. "Now, Felicia, you're going to stay with me for the rest of the evening. This is time for you to think about what happened and how you can make better choices next time."
