*Tardy bell rings*
Mrs. Davis is still in the hallway talking.
"Why can't she just teach us instead of fucking gossiping about fucking stupid shit," Annebelle angrily questions to Emily and Adrea.
"Cause all the teachers are dumbfucks!!" says Adrea.
"Well ain't that the truth. And, nice use of my word, dumbfucks."
All three of them laugh.
Finally, the teacher comes in and starts talking about a car protecting an egg.
"You will each get in groups of two to build your car. All the materials you will need are up here. Now get into your groups and start working."
Annebelle immediately stands next to Adrea at her table. She doesn't really like anyone else in the class. They have all discredited her. They all have made fun of her and abused her, so she doesn't want to interact with them.
"I'll get the supplies," Emily says.
"My dad and I will work on this at home. There's no need to waste class time on working on class work." Adrea states.
"Thanks." Annebelle and Emily state enthusiastically.
"Soooo. Let's just talk." Adrea says.
"I'm good. I'll go back to my table and draw. You two can talk."
While Emily and Adrea talk about God knows what, Annebelle drew. She worked hard on one type of piece that's she's never done before. A word collage. It's on the back of her third period social studies paper. A giant collage of random words, sentences, and phrases that mean something to her. She has till 8:56 and it's 8:43. She has time to really work on the drawing. She has never loved something that she's done so much. So much heart and sole was going on this paper.
*Bell rings*
Everyone rushes to the door but Mrs. Davis yells at everyone to get back in the class and clean it spotless. Luckily the three girls were still at their two tables. They stand around while everyone cleans up their mess. When they are finally allowed to leave, they have one minute till the tardy bells rings. Everyone rushes out in hope that they will make it to RTI on time. The girls say goodbye to each other and go their separate ways. Annebelle's RTI was right across the hall so she knew she wouldn't be late.
She goes into the class and sits next to James and Elijah.
"Soo how's life?" Annebelle asks the boys.
*Tardy bell rings*
"Fantastic!" Screams Elijah.
Luckily Mrs. Davidson was in the hall talking to the other teachers.
James, though, has a different answer.
"Shitty as always. I can't get away from that motherfucker!" He almost screams as if he's been bottling it up for a long time.
"Dude, is there something you want to talk about?" Annebelle asks knowing that Elijah was thinking the same thing.
*Mrs. Davidson walks in*
"It's just my fucking mom. I can't stand her. She always yelling at me."
"You all in the corner need to be quiet," Mrs. Davidson boldly states.
They continue to talk.
"Dude I'm so sorry," Elijah says.
"Thanks man, but let's not good all mushy."
*laughing*
"That's it!!!!! You all need to split up!!! Annebelle! Behind Courtney!!! Elijah! In front of Kyra!!
They both go to their new seats.
Annebelle gets scared. She doesn't like new seats. She always had an anxiety attack.
It's 9:15 so she just had ten minutes left of class. She hid her face behind her books and tried to breathe. James was staring at her. James stood up and walked over to Annebelle.
"Let's go," he said.
He grabbed her books and left the class. She followed behind him.
Mrs. Davidson was furious. She came into the hall and looked, but the kids were nowhere to be seen.
They weren't very far away. They had walked to the end of the hallway and were talking to Mr. Barwell.
*intercom beeps*
"James Kerzee and Annebelle Light please come to the office.."
"I'll go with you and get this straightened out," says Mr. Barwell.
"Thanks," they both say.
They get to the office and Mr. Barwell starts talking.
"They didn't do anything wrong. Just a kind friend taking care of another kind friend and asking for my assistance. That's it."
*bell rings*
"Okay. Thank for clearing everything up. I'll let Mrs. Davidson know," the lady at the desk politely expressed.
"Thank you," Mr. Barwell said.
He walked them to his room so they could get their stuff, then they walked to the elective hallway to get what they needed for second period.
"Thanks for what you did Kerzee."
"No problem. She's a bitch anyway."
*laughing*
They get to their locker and get their stuff. They walk to the seventh grade hallway and go their separate ways. He goes left and she goes right. She meets up with Skyler, Adrea, and Emily at their lockers.
"Skyler, we still need to talk."
"Fine."
"So what's wrong?"
"I-I-I'm moving."
"WHAT?!?!?!" Annebelle screams in shock.
"I have to move in with my mom. She lives two hours away."
"But this can't be happening!"
"I know!"
Adrea nudges into the conversation,"Just to let you all know, class is going to start in one minute."
"Thanks," they both say as they walk across the hall to science.
*tardy bell rings*
The girls run into Savannah and Trent.
They start talking because Mrs. Davis is still in the hall talking. Annebelle is zoned out the entire conversation adding in words like,"yeah," "mhmm," "totally." She had no clue what they were actually talking about.
It was sort of an important topic. They were talking about how fucked up society was.
"Annebelle?" Trent questions finally noticing that Annebelle was only there physically.
"What? Hmm? Yeah?" Annebelle says snapping out.
"Where were you?" Savannah asks.
"I was just thinking about something. It really doesn't matter so please don't ask."
Just then Mrs. Davis walked in.
"Alright everybody. Get in your assigned seats."
Everyone scrambles around the room to get in their seats.
Annebelle takes her seat next to Rheann.
"It's 9:37. Class doesn't end till 10:20," Annebelle whispers to Rheann.
"Damn,"
"I know. Ugh."
The teacher interrupts them.
"I guess I'll wait till everyone is done talking!" Mrs. Davis shouted.
"Damn," Rheann and Annebelle whispered to each other at the same time.
Mrs. Davis continued on with her lesson. Something about atoms. Nothing that anybody was really interested in.
Time passed. Everyone was writing in there notebooks, as told to do so.
                       *Bells rings*
                   *Everyone gets up*
"The bell doesn't dismiss you! I do!" The teacher screamed.
                     *Everyone sits*
"Now you may leave."
                  *Everyone gets up*
"Finally! Damn!" Annebelle says loudly but not loud enough for the teacher to hear.
Rheann and Annebelle walk out of the class together.
"See ya Nep."
"See ya Sollux"
Annebelle walked over to Skyler at her locker and have her a hug, then walked away with tears in her eyes. She kept her head down so no one could see her face. When she got to her locker, she ran into James.
"Hey!" He said.
She didn't answer him. He put his hand on her back.
"Annebelle?"
"Yeah?" She said while she sniffled.
"What's wrong?" He asked as he sat down next to her.
"It's nothing," she said as she struggled to open her locker.
"Come on tell me. Please," he begged as he opened her locker.
"Thanks," she said as she wiped tears from her face. "It's just life."
"I'm here for you."
He stood up and took her by her hands. He pulled her up. They stood standing. Looking at each other. He stands five inches taller than her. He leans over and puts his arms around her. She puts her arms around him. They give each other a hug, then he looks over and kisses her cheek. Then he let's go and opens his locker. All of a sudden, Jayden walks up.
"What the fuck was that James?!?!"
"What?" He asks.
"Why would you want to even get near that fucked up emo hoe bag?!?! I mean, look at her!"
Annebelle is so hurt. She can't breathe. She runs away to the bathroom. James quickly grabs his stuff and slams his locker shut.
"Fuck you asshole!" He screamed as he walked away.
He went to look for Annebelle. He asked around in the hallway till he figured out she was in the bathroom. Third period starts at 10:26. They have two minutes before they are both late. He runs into the girls bathroom. He finds Annebelle in the back stall, blood running from her wrists. He tells no one. He shuts the stall door and locks it. He sits next to her on the floor and takes off his button up shirt. He wraps it around her wrist. She's still conscious and resisting.
"Stop. You don't have to do this."
"I want to Belle. Please let me help you. Now don't move. Please."
"What about your shirt?"
"It's just a shirt. Don't worry about it. I have more."
"Okay. I'm sorry. Just. I."
"Please. Just don't use your energy."
*Bell rings*
"Shit. I'm sorry. I made you late for class."
"I don't care. I just want to make sure you're alright."
"I know you probably think I'm an attention seeker. You know. I let shit build up from school and home then this happens."
"No. Of course I don't. You are just trying to find a way to cope with the pain. Oh and let's pull your sleeve down." James suggested as he pulled her sleeve down.
"Thanks. We should probably get to class."
"Your right. We should."
James gets up and helps Annebelle up.
*Intercom beeps*
"James Kerzee and Annebelle Light to the office please."
They walked out of the bathroom together but they didn't go left to the office. They went right. They wanted to talk to Mr. Barwell. They weren't sure what they would say but they knew it had to be quick. They walked into his room. He walked up to them.
"May I help you too?" Mr. Barwell asked.
"Whatever you hear happen, didn't happen," James whispered to Mr.Barwell.
They both walked out of the class quickly. They went back to the bathroom to grab their things then proceeded to the office. They were very quiet. They didn't talk until they got to the office.
"You both need to report to your third period class. When you get there, you will have to explain why you are so late. Do you understand?" The lady at the front desk questioned them.
"Yes ma'am," they both answered together.
"Okay good. Now go to class."
They left the office. It's 10:49 so they are twenty three minutes late for class. They walked in silence till they got to the main hallway where they split to go their separate ways. They both walked to their class. James had to walk half way across the school and Annebelle had to walk five feet. To her, that was the longest five feet ever. To him, that was the longest minute walk to class ever.
Neither of them could focus during class. Annebelle already had stuff on her mind then with James finding out, it was worse. James couldn't think about his music at all. He just kept worrying about Annebelle. Third period is also lunch class and neither of them ate, which is usual for Annebelle but not forjames. They sat in the engulfing room. It was as loud as little, screaming children at birthday party.neither of them knew that though. To them it was very quiet. Too quiet. They couldn't hear anything. Their minds were gone for the whole 20 minutes.  Everyone kept asking James if he was alright but he never answered. On the flip side, not one person asked if Annebelle was okay.
Lunch is over so back to third period. Annebelle started to think of something. Something life changing.
