Just Another Love Story

Chapter 3 'New Start'

As we separated I quickly gasped and backed up from him.

'Do I...do I love Jay? No it's only been three months...it takes time to fall for someone...'

I looked at Cole, his face was turning red from the kiss and I guess it's also from sudden contact with someone you just met.

"I'm sorry that I did that I-it's that you're so nice and I-I...I'm so, so, so sorry Avery ..."

I stopped him by kissing his lips really quick. My face started to heat up.

"C-Cole I-I got to go..."

He put his arms around my waist and pulled me close to him, he placed his forehead to mine.

"C-can I walk you home?"

I nodded my head as he placed his lips on mine again. We broke apart and started walking to my apartment, I turned to him.

"Why do you taste like chocolate cake?"

He laughed at the comment.

"I LOVE CAKE"

I giggled and smiled at him.

"I can tell"

"Avery?"

"Yea?"

"Do you want to go on a date with me sometime?"

I blinked slowly at the sudden question. The light that was previously in his eyes seem to dim a little, we arrived at my apartment building and we went up to the third floor where my apartment was. I went to open the door, stopped and looked back as I opened the door I turned to him and kissed him on the lips.

"Yes. How about you meet me tomorrow three pm?"

He nodded then smiled and I started to feel warm on the inside.

"I'll be here to pick you up!"

He said cheerfully. I went into the apartment and fell asleep on the bed, my dreams filled with the amazing boy I now know as Cole.

'Maybe I'll let him be my boyfriend...I still want to be with jay though...maybe I'll just stay friends for a while'

I woke up in my bed, thoughts of the previous day spinning through my mind.

'I'm going on a date with a complete stranger and somehow it doesn't seem so scary.'

I got up got dressed and went to doomsday comics for the early shift like always. I saw Lloyd and Kai there again.

'Must be regulars'

I didn't want to think about anyone but Cole at the moment. As I got closer to the closet I saw a familiar blue hoodie and heard a familiar laugh.

'JAY?!'

I quickly ran to the back and clocked in.

'I have to work now! I can't fantasize and day dream about dating my most recent best friend!'

The bell rang and I turned to see a boy in a white hoodie come in with...COLE?!

'Well this is bad...my date and my best friend are in the same place with the one guy who likes to hit on me...'

"AVERY! I'm glad to see you! Still as hot as ever I see?"

Kai winked at me and I waved a little while smiling a little embarrassed. Cole punched Kai in the arm and I laughed. Jay glared at Cole and gave me a sad look, he turned and was about to leave when I grabbed the back of his hood and drug him to the back.

"Jay I can't leave to chase after you. Where were you yesterday? I had great news to tell you but you weren't there and-"

I was cut off by Jay grabbing me by the back of my neck and kissing me gently on the lips. His lips felt like they belong on mine, like we were supposed to kiss and be together forever. When he pulled away his cheeks were tainted red and so were mine.

'This time I'm going to kiss because I want to...'

I grabbed his collar and pulled him in for another kiss earning a very happy yelp from Jay.

"Jay, I don't know what this date means to Cole so until I figure it out don't kiss me anymore...ok?"

Jay looked down sadly and nodded his head reluctantly.

"JAY! AVERY! WHAT ARE YOU GUYS DOING BACK THERE?!" Cole screamed.

Jay groaned annoyed. "She's allowed to have friends right?! I mean I am her friend! I was her friend before you were her friend!"

Sighing me and Jay returned back to the shop but not before earning a few groans from kai and Lloyd.

"Another couple?! This sucks guys! I mean I might be older but that doesn't mean I want to see you guys making out all the time!" I blushed at the thought of me making out with anyone.

Soon we were all in a fit of giggles and laughs. I thought I saw Kai looking at me with a love struck face but apparently not because when I looked back he wasn't looking at me.
