Chapter 13 'Why Now?!'

Avery's POV

I looked to my mom, dad, uncle and Nya, who was cuddling with Ronin since her secret was out anyway.

"So everyone...."

As I spoke everyone's head snapped toward me.

"I'm...I'm pregnant...with Jay and it's a girl!"

Nya looked shocked then turned to Ronin.

"Then I guess our little boy with have someone to play with to!"

She exclaimed excitedly, I smiled as me and Nya congratulated each other and got more approval from the family. A loud crash sounded from upstairs and we heard people running down the stairs as three people came in with gas masks on. They threw something on the floor and I immediately recognized it as knock out gas. I then heard my dad and uncle say at the same time and by the sheer sound of their voices you could tell they were losing consciousness.

"Someone CALL THE NINJA!"

I looked around and hit the panic button in time to slump on to it and held it down so it kept going off.

Jay's POV

We came back slightly tired but I was more excited than anything.

'I can't wait till we tell the guys that we are having a baby!'

I stopped when I heard the siren going off at the monastery and ran faster than my lightning to get there, everyone was following me close by. I sped up and was breathing heavily when I spotted the empty containers on the floor, panic raced through my mind.

"AVERY?! AVERY BABY ARE YOU HERE?! PLEASE TELL ME YOURE OKAY?!?!"

I ran around the monastery only to find a tied up Misako. I started to untie her, my voice laced with panic and fear as I spoke.

"Misako where is Avery?"

She sighed and rubbed her wrists her voice coming out a little less shaky than mine.

"They took her Jay I tried to stop them but I couldn't. They used knock out gas on us and I don't know how long we were out for but I do know they have Garmadon, Wu, Nya, Ronin and Avery."

I stared in utter shock.

'I should have been here!!! I should have protected her and our baby!!!!'

Zane starts trying to console me while Cole is helping Kai and Misako is helping Lloyd. I started to feel anger build within me. I gently push Zane off of me and walk silently toward the control room where I knew how to get into the security system. I run through the system and found them taking my Avery away bridal style as my anger boils over at who has taken her and away along with my spark plug. Everyone sees I am missing and walk in with solemn faces for their loved ones, I glare at the computer screen and look at Lloyd un-willingly glaring at him.

"Lloyd Chen and Clause are back."

Lloyd shakes in fear from the memory of the duo.

"Why? Why my sister and Nya? Why now of all times?"

I look to the now pale green ninja.

"I don't know but whatever it is. It can't be good."

I walk to the front of the monastery and make my dragon appear.

"We have to find them, I want my Spark back"

Everyone looked at me astonished that I took control.

'My fiancé, my baby, my world is on the line here. I'm not wasting any time by waiting around'

I started commanded my dragon up and started toward Master Chens island.

Avery's POV

I woke up chained to a wall and glowing a gold color, I looked toward dad and uncle Wu. They were looking at me and Nya full of worry. I moved to indicate I was a wake and I heard them sigh.

"Avery can you brake the chains?"

My dad was scared for Nya and mines safety, I nodded and used my element of spirit to brake the chains. The chains gave away easily and as I did mine the rest broke on their own. I looked to Dad and Uncle as they got up, I noticed Ronin help Nya up then turned and helped me.

"Women and children get help first"

I rolled my eyes at his playful and teasing banner. I started to listen to our surroundings and noticed two voices I thought I would never here again.

'Cole and Zane!'

I was about to scream to them and let them know we were okay and to send Jay but I heard chains and my mouth was covered by Ronin's hand. I looked to Nya to notice she was the same way. Ronin nodded up and we all got the message that we should go up to the ceiling and see what's going on. Nya and I went up after sensei Garmadon and Sensei Wu and Ronin went after me and Nya. We crawled through the shaft until Dad dropped down into a room with orange walls and red curtains. Uncle turned toward me and beckoned me forward.

"Follow"

I nodded as I followed him down into the room and Dad helped me and Nya down.

'Wait that's not my Dad...well he is but isn't?'

I looked around the room and saw a lot of people but only saw three people I knew Kai, Jay and Lloyd.  I stared in awe at Kai's old room and looked at their GIs as I instantly knew something was wrong. Jay looked at Nya with a love struck expression and then sighed out questions.

"What's going on? Why are their people dropping from the ceiling and why can't pretty girls dropped through my ceiling?!"

I looked at him with a tinge of hurt and turned away only to be faced with a guy with gray skin and black hair. I backed away holding my stomach in protection. He smirked and I heard a voice that made me jump.

Shade leave her alone, I don't want her to hurt herself by trying to run from you."

I looked back at kai still holding my stomach and went to Nya and laid my head on her shoulder quietly.  I heard Jay dreamily sigh and looked up to see him looking at an uncomfortable Nya. I saw sensei walk over to jay, I buried my face as I heard the thwack of sensei's staff connecting to Jay's head.

"This is gonna be a long explanation"

I looked at Nya with hurtful eyes.

"I know but hopefully he will stop now."

I nodded and placed my head on her shoulder again.
