"You're not dead yet, little girl," the Shinigami said, its voice a peculiar blend of sweetness and malice. "But you're teetering on the edge, aren't you? Otherwise, I wouldn’t be standing here."

Subuhi tried to respond, but her body was paralyzed, her voice smothered by an overwhelming despair. She was alive, technically, but barely—trapped in the liminal space between life and death.

The Shinigami tilted its head, its expression curiously twisted, almost resembling pity—if it were capable of such a thing. "You always had the potential," it murmured, a cruel grin stretching across its face, its hollow eyes fixed on hers. "But tell me, do you think he will come to save you now?"

Of course, he'd know about Sukuna. It's her creation after all.

Her heart clenched at the mention of him. A faint flicker of hope stirred, buried beneath the suffocating weight of her circumstances. Him… But no, she couldn't rely on him.

"You can't save anyone with your own power," the Shinigami pressed on, its voice cutting deep into her thoughts. "And as for him… he’s long since forgotten you."

No. The word pierced the haze of hopelessness clouding her mind, but it wasn’t enough. Her body refused to obey her will, leaving her trapped within herself, a prisoner in her own flesh.

The Shinigami took another step forward, its grin widening to an unnatural, grotesque degree. Its shadow loomed over her like a smothering presence. "But I could help you," it offered, its tone a tantalizing mix of sugar and poison. "Would you like that, Subuhi? A way out? A deal?"

Uncertainty churned within her. She didn’t know what to say, didn’t know if she could trust it. Yet a part of her—a desperate part—knew she needed help.

"Do you want to save everyone?" the Shinigami asked, its voice dripping with temptation.

Images of her fallen friends flooded her mind, their faces etched in pain. You're our only hope, Kenjaku had said.

Was there truly a way to save them? To save herself?

Her gaze lifted to meet the Shinigami's, her resolve hardening. Slowly, she nodded. "I need your help."

The creature chuckled, its laughter soft but sinister. "Very well. I shall help you. But first, we must seal the terms with a binding vow."

Her eyes widened in surprise. "What?" she asked warily.

"What? Did you think I’d help you for nothing?" it said with a mocking laugh. "I am your creation, after all."

Her breath hitched. "What do you want?" she asked, her voice a wary whisper.

"You," it replied with chilling simplicity. "This time, I will lend you my power freely if you can handle it. But the next time you summon me will be your last as a conscious being. You will surrender yourself to me entirely, allowing me to consume your existence."

It was absurd—pure suicide. The terms were unthinkable, yet what choice did she have? The weight of her duty crushed her hesitation.

"Fine," she agreed without a second thought. Her mission was clear: to save her friends. If it meant becoming a curse herself, so be it.

The crown prince's confident smirk wavered as the domain barrier began to splinter, thin cracks spreading like veins through glass.

Subuhi felt her body encased in cursed energy, blackened armor forming around her like a second skin. A horned mask obscured her face, and an immense axe materialized in her hand, pulsing with her power. Her eyes opened beneath the watery confines of the barrier, sensing its fragility against the sheer force of her cursed energy.
