And here comes the chapter...

Aradhya felt a mix of embarrassment
and anxiety as Rudra's words hung in the air. "Bhaagungi nahi, sir," she replied, her voice barely above a whisper.

[I won't run away, sir.]

Rudra's lips curled into a faint smile. "Achha. Dekhte hain," he said, his voice low and teasing.

[Alright, we'll see.]

With that, he released her wrist, and Aradhya stepped back, her mind racing. She was uncertain whether she was relieved or even more nervous about the upcoming celebration. As she watched him walk away, she couldn't shake the feeling that their encounter at the orphanage was no mere coincidence.

---

The next day, preparations for the celebration consumed Aradhya and her mother. They decorated their modest living room with colorful streamers and balloons, creating a warm and inviting atmosphere. Aradhya's heart raced every time she thought about Rudra attending.

"Mamma, what if he thinks it's too simple?" Aaradhya fretted, arranging a tray of snacks.

"Arre, beta, it's not about extravagance. It's about celebrating you and your kindness," her mother reassured her. "Aur bhagwan ka shukriya ada karne ka ek mauka hai."

[And it's a chance to thank God.]

Just as Aaradhya was about to respond, the doorbell rang. Her heart leaped into her throat. She exchanged a quick glance with her mother, who smiled encouragingly.

"Go on, open the door!" Mrs. Mehra urged.

Taking a deep breath, Aaradhya opened the door, and her breath caught in her throat. Rudra stood there, looking every bit the formidable CEO she knew, but there was a softness in his demeanor that caught her off guard.

"Mr. Rajvansh, you made it to the house?" Aaradhya said, her surprise evident.

"Of course," he replied smoothly, stepping inside. "I wouldn't miss it."

Aaradhya led him into the living room, where her mother was waiting with an inviting smile.

"Namaste, beta! I'm so glad you came!" her mother exclaimed, ushering him to the sofa.

Rudra nodded politely. "Thank you for the invitation, Mrs. Mehra." He glanced around, taking in the decorations and the spread of snacks. "This looks wonderful."

"It's just a small gathering, but we're grateful for your presence," Mrs. Mehra said, her eyes shining with admiration.

As the evening unfolded, friends and colleagues arrived, filling the room with laughter and chatter. Aaradhya tried to engage with everyone, but her attention kept drifting to Rudra, who stood slightly apart, observing the festivities with a thoughtful expression.
