The end of the world started when Omega died. Yeah, yeah, I know you are thinking: 'What? The end started when the end died?' Let me clear things up for you: I live in a world where practically anything is possible. Magic? Check. Weird creatures? Check. Assassin Camps? Once again, check. You name it, it's real.
Now, you probably want to know about the whole assassin camps deal. There are four camps in total: Camp Alpha, Camp Bellator, Camp Arcașii and Camp Omega. Each camp is for different people. Camp Alpha is for the newbies, kids that are new to the camp and without experience. Camp Bellator is for the people who are focused on becoming warriors and a defense system for the camps. Camp Arcașii, which is pronounced Ar-cah-si, or the Archers, is the archers and strategists. To get into this group, you have to be quick, clever and strong willed. Last of all, Camp Omega. To get into this camp, you have to the best of the best. Seriously, it is a pretty big deal if you are allowed in. Not much is let out into the public about it except for that if you get one of the members of this group after you, you are done for.
So, now you have some a decent amount of information about the world I'm stuck in. My name is Luke Carter, but nobody calls me that. Ever. They call me Loki or Lieutenant Loki. Guess what I'm second in command of. If you guessed a camp, you are halfway there. I'm the lieutenant of Camp Omega, second in command after Commander Omega. Who is now dead. And it's all my fault...
--- Two days earlier---
"Loookkkiii!" Omega called my name from the hallway in a singsong voice.
I sighed and look up from my book. "Yes Omega?" Omega popped his head into my room, his ice colored eyes glinting with mischief.
"Meeting at Camp Alpha in a few hours. Got a good 'speech' planned." He said, grinning.
Smirking, I asked, "Yet again, we have an 'uninterrupted' schedule?"
Omega's grin widened. "You bet! Now, before we go to the meeting, wanna spar quickly?"
"But you ALWAYS win! It's no fun..."
"Come on! Pleeeeeaaassseee?" He looked at me, using his puppy face.
I let out a short huff of air. There is no way out of this situation but to get the stuffing knocked out of me. "Fine..."
"Woo-hoo!!" Omega began jumping up and down, his black hair some how staying it's usual slightly messy style. "Let's get this party star-ted!" With that, he left my room and sprinted down the hall towards the sparring arena. Shaking my head, I set my book down and got up. Still, even after a few hours, I couldn't shake off the feeling of dread from my dream... A battle field... There had been a masked boy dead, in the hands of some creature I didn't know. I know that it was important, since I've been having this same dream over and over again for a while. People don't know this, but I sometimes get glimpses of the future. Freaky, right? Whatever. It didn't matter, we weren't in any wars or battles currently. Right now, I have to worry about Omega creaming me in this 'friendly' match.
"Hey Loookkkiii! Take your time!" Omega yelled from the arena.
"Yes sir!" I hollered back, grinning. I dash down the hall towards the arena, and naturally, trip on the door way.
"Dang. Skill." Omega chuckled, leaning on the door frame.
I gave him a double thumbs up, still laying on the floor. "You betcha, All Mighty Commander Omega!" I said, picking myself up off the floor.
"Loki! Don't call me that!" He scowled at me.
"Yes sire!"
He glared at me. " You. Are. Dead." He said, twisting his pendant, which is on a leather necklace, changing into 'battle mode'. Now instead of his casual teal t-shirt and black skinny jeans, he had a black hoddie, dark blue jeans and black high tops, which were all enchanted to act as armor. He flipped two coins, snatching them out of the air as they turned into two black, saber swords.
"Bring it on!" I teased. I flipped my pendant on my leather string necklace, replacing my casual light green and black t-shirt and dark gray skinny jeans with a dark green hoddie with black jeans and black and green lace up combat boots. With a twist of two rings on both my middle fingers, I was equipped with two black daggers with white chips in them. He swung up with one sword and aimed the other one at my left side. I block both with the hilts of my daggers. "Hey! I never said start!" I protest, annoyed. He drew his swords back and jabbed at my chest, which I parried.
"Well, in an actual fight, does your attacker wait until you say: 'Ok lets start now!'" Omega said, mimicking me. With a growl, I stabbed at his side, nicking his arm.
"Ha! Loki: 1! Omega: 0!" I shouted happily.
Just then he thrust one of his swords at my head, causing me to lean backwere he had his other sword pushed up against my back.
He smirked. "You were saying something?"
I scowled. "You suck." There was a knock from the doorway and we both looked over at the person who had knocked. I brightened up once I see it is Lalia. "Oh hi!" I said, waving at her. She looked gorgeous, her curly brown hair in a low ponytail, plus, her chocolate colored eyes clashed with her white shirt. I might have a little crush in her...
"Hello Lieutenant Loki, Commander Omega. Both of you are needed at the council right away." Lalia said, her voice full of amusement. "You can decide who wins afterwards, though."
"Awww maaaannn... They just had to choose the time to interrupt us when we just get started?" Omega whined. He lowered his swords, switching them back to coins. Since that allowed me to move again, I twirl my daggers so they go back to rings.
"Fine. We should get on our way, Omega. They hate waiting." I said, slightly relieved that there would be time before I get pounded by Omega again.
"Yeah." He held out his hand, putting on his 'serious' face. "Shall we?"
I take hold of his hand. "We shall." Soon the colors and objects in the arena blurred we and disappeared as we shadow jumped. The arena was now replaced by a big, circular, white room with many seats facing inward, which were now filled with the council.
"Ah, Lieutenant Loki and Commander Omega. Thank you for coming on such short notice." Said the Prime Leader. "Please, sit."
"Thank you, sir, but we are fine standing. Now, what is the meeting about?" Omega said, his normal joking personality gone. He never does well with councils.
" Yes, yes. You see, we have be-" He was cut off by the roof caving down upon us.
