Zeke

Briar, Damian, Lilith and the five-month year-old Jinx were walking next to the ravine at 10:00 pm in the cold January air. They were just having a normal walk, well as normal as possible when you're walking with Briar and Damian when Damian grabbed Briar book and threw it into a ravine. It caused a startled and hurt gasp from Lilith at book abuse, a hard punch to Damian's shoulder from Briar and Jinx half flying half falling after the book.

"Great" Briar grumbled "now we have to go after it, and you made Lilith cry." Lilith's shocked eyes had tears at the corner. "It's not my fault she has an obsession with books!"

They stumbled down the ravine. Briar had to catch Lilith and her clumsy feet every thirty seconds.

Briar saw her book laying among the frosty, dead leaves and she picked it up brushing the frost off its black cover.

Suddenly out of nowhere they heard a painful groan. Lilith, hearing the sound of someone in trouble looked up and put Jinx on her shoulder. Briar pushed her rather aggressively behind her and Damian pushed Briar behind him which Briar objected to and pushed him out of the way so she could go first.

They stumbled around for a while before they found a woman with long black hair and bright green eyes laying on the ground with blood spilling out of her stomach. A toddler was beside her. He had dusty red hair and light green eyes. He had black wings and horns but also when he cried for is mother the trio watching him saw razor sharp fangs.

The woman spotted them and called them over in a croaky voice. They approached slowly. "Listen carefully, I don't have long. My name's Cairn. I'm a twenty-year-old vampire. That's my three-year-old son Zeke." She said nodding at the young demon-vampire beside her. "His father, demon was killed." They nodded sadly cross-species births and marriages were looked down on. "I've just been attacked. I need a mother and a father for Zeke. Please help my beautiful son." She went limp and Lilith closed her eyes.

Zeke walked towards Briar and snuggled into her arms. She made a disgusted face, but Lilith gave her a reprimanding look and she put a hesitant arm around the toddler.

The next day at 4:00 pm Briar brought Zeke to The Den where everyone else was already waiting. Raven gave him a warm smile, Kash gave him a disgusted look and moved to the other side of the room and Ash watched him curiously from a distance.

"So...just to make sure, I'm the fairy godmother, right?" Lilith asked Briar. "No" Briar said "you can be the were cat godmother." Lilith cast Briar a sulky glare "but- no petting Jinx with slobbery hands!" she told Zeke sternly has his wet sticky hands reached for Jinx who flew onto a bookshelf.

"Hey guys..." Kash said looking at his phone "my friend who lives in Aylmer says that his parents heard about a cross-species and says that if we bring it to the Night Summit" he said lazily gesturing to Zeke when he said 'it'. "That everyone can vote on if he lives or not, if we don't, they're killing him and us." After much persuasion Briar agreed to bring Zeke to the Night Summit.

"So, technically Briar and Damian have a kid now" Raven announced.  "Yeah" Damian said smirking "Briar still the only one who can call me daddy." Kash chuckled and Raven pointed out that there was a child there and Kash laughed even more at that as Briar tried to figure out who she was going to kill first.
