HOW DO YOU EXPLAIN A LIFE CHANGING EVENT THAT HAS YET TO HAPPEN?
Chiron walked with me back to the Big House, a stern look on his face. I told him about my dream.
"And this phenomenon, are you always right about it?"
"Always." I said dejectedly. He didn't say anything for a while, which scared me. I cleared my throat. "I know what this means."
He quirked a brow. "And how is that?"I glanced at the floor. "It means that the Prophecy might not be about Percy. It could be about Thalia too now."
"Curse the titan lord," Chiron said. "He's tricked us again, given himself another chance to control the prophecy." He paused. "Is there any doubt in your mind?"
Yes. "No."
"Then we must prepare. I forbid you from telling anyone. But stay alert."The next day, it came true. Quicker than I had anticipated, but Annabeth was the one who discovered her.
The pine tree was there, glittering in the first light of dawn. The storm had broken and the sky was bloodred.
There at the base of the tree, a girl was lying unconscious. Another girl in Greek armor was kneeling next to her."It healed the tree," Chiron said, his voice ragged. "And poison was not the only thing it purged."
When Annabeth saw Chiron, she ran up to him. "It... she ... just suddenly there ..."
Her eyes were streaming with tears.
"I know." Chiron began. "Y/N has—"
Percy leaped off Chiron's back and sprinted toward the unconscious girl. Chiron said: "Percy, wait!"He knelt by her side. My legs were too curious to hold still in the distance, and just like I had dreamed, I was nearer and nearer to the girl until my sight was an exact replica of what I had already seen. I could see her clearer now.
She had short black hair and freckles across her nose. She was built like a long-distance runner, lithe and strong, and she wore clothes that were somewhere between punk and Goth—a black T-shirt, black tattered jeans, and a leather jacket with buttons from a bunch of bands.
"It's true," Grover said, panting from his run up the hill. "I can't believe ..."
Nobody else came close to the girl.
Percy put his hand on her forehead. "She needs nectar and ambrosia," He said. He took her by the shoulders and lifted her into a sitting position, resting her head on his shoulder. "Come on!" he yelled at us. "What's wrong with you people? Let's get her to the Big House.""Percy..." I whispered gently. No one around me moved, not even Chiron.
Then the girl took a shaky breath. She coughed and opened her eyes.
Her irises were that startlingly blue—electric blue.
The girl stared at me in bewilderment, shivering and wild-eyed. "Who-"
"I'm Percy," He said. "You're safe now.""Strangest dream ..."
"It's okay."
"Dying."
"No," He assured her. "You're okay. What's your name?"
The case of deja vu ran through my veins."I am Thalia," the girl said. "Daughter of Zeus."
the end...
