"Arianna" I stop in the hallway to my name being called. I turn around to see Santiago walking towards me dressed in grey joggers and a simple hoodie yet he looks damn good.
"How may I help" I reply smiling as the brown haired boy appears before me. I can't stop thinking about yesterday and how he stood up for me. He's not scared of my brothers, well the younger ones anyways. I like that.
"We need to talk" he says in a serious tone and my smile instantly drops. What now.
"What's wrong" I ask as my eyebrows scrunch together. There's never peace in this life, never.
"Well... have you seen Nikolai recently" Santiago asks starring down at me intensely. Come to think of it, I haven't seen that boy in a while.
"I haven't why?" I ask taking a breath in, possibly preparing for some bad news.
"My father's men did a raid on one of Igors supposed warehouses and the findings weren't good. A lot of dead bodies were found along with a bunch of weapons and packages" Santiago utters. I can't help but admire him as he talks. He seems so mature.
"This isn't confirmed but a boy was also found beaten and in a life threatening condition. The men were about to take the boy when the Russians turned up. They weren't able to help him. We think it's Nikolai" Santiago finishes talking before meeting my eyes.
For some reason the thought of Nikolai being so badly hurt pisses me off. He's technically our enemy but he's just a boy, he's only a year older than me plus he's helped me, a few times.
"Why are you telling me this" I ask Santiago who seems taken aback by my response.
"You seem to care for the boy, I'm not sure why he's an ass-" I cut Santiago off by slapping his arm. He chuckles before continuing.
"I just wanted you to know plus we will raid again" Santiago states before shrugging. He's so involved in this life even for being so young. I'm sure he's the heir to his father's legacy.
"Hey San" I ask looking up at the boy. His eyes always get me. They're so vibrant yet empty. It's intriguing.
"You seem to be quite involved in this lifestyle, I'm not sure if that's by choice but... do you like it" I continue.
Santiago stares at me for a few seconds most likely registering what I've asked before his expression changes.
He opens his mouth to answer but is interrupted by the bell signalling our next lesson. "Well that's bad timing" he says noticing my annoyed expression.
