Light's eyes burst open at this point. His body jolted upright, his breathing deep and fast.

What kind of a dream was that last night?

He looked around, checking everything was how he'd left it the previous morning, his entire body and his bed covered in his sweat. Nothing had changed except his dishevelled bed.

"Wh-What was that?..." He muttered to himself, confused about last night. "How did I get here?" He continued questioning himself, "all I can remember is getting into that fight and-- nothing."

His breathing started to get steady as he kept looking around. He finally managed to calm himself down, after continuously reminding himself that everything was okay, and that Trisha was  safe next door in her bedroom, and his parents happy in their bedroom with no sleep interrupted by police sirens or his late arrival home.

He flopped back once he was calm, ready to wait for Trisha's alarm to go off. He put his hands behind his head, supporting his neck a little more. It ached, as it always did when he woke up in the morning.  He stretched out his legs, yawning as he was so exhausted.

Rolling over, the tired male turned to look at the door. His eyes slipped shut slowly, slipping slowly into a sleepy state while facing the door.

That's when Trisha's alarm suddenly sounded, bringing a loud ringing to his ears and startling him awake again.

He groaned under his breath, still tired but wary as he swung his legs over the edge of his bed, preparing himself for the day ahead.

He hauled himself slowly to the door, carefully stepping into his school uniform on his way. His straight black trousers were beginning to get slightly too short for him, but he was only two weeks away from the end of school for the year - he could deal with it for now.

He quickly opened the door just as Trisha was about to knock on his door to wake him up. She looked slightly puzzled at first, then relieved.

"Oh, you're already up! Great!" She chirped with a smile on her face. He replied simply with a smile, indicating how happy he was to see her happy and safe but trying not to look suspicious.

"I always am," Light chuckled, brushing past her and heading towards the stairs. "I'm just never dressed when you knock," he mumbled to himself quietly at the top of the stairs.

He quickly bounded down the stairs, hungry because he hadn't eaten since breakfast the previous day. He ran into the kitchen, accidentally running into his mum as she was making breakfast.

"Light! What's gotten into you today?!" She shouted at Light, this making him jump.

"Mum! Hi! Uhm... I'm sorry..." He mumbled, hugging her. "You're okay, aren't you?" He smiled at her, happy that nothing had happened to hurt her.

She chuckled in reply, gently pinching his cheek.

"You need to go to school!" She laughed mockingly at Light as he grabbed some food and ran to get his bag. He sprinted toward the door, shoving the food in his bag on his way out.

"I'll see you all after school! Bye, love you," he called over his shoulder to everyone. He headed toward the stop at which he waits for his bus usually, running quickly as he normally does, so that he can make it in time for his bus.
