Violet's POV:

The Fourth of July parade was today. I'm not a big fan of parades probably because I don't like loud sounds, yet I'll listen to my music on full volume. It's weird how I'm like that. Anyways, Bill called me, asked me if I was going down to the parade. Honestly I thought it was going to be the two of us there since he didn't mention the others but I was completely wrong. I felt so embarrassed of myself but at least Bill or the others didn't know I thought that. As you could see, I definitely said yes to him, if I knew the others were there I would've said no. Maybe he knew that. Maybe he didn't, he probably just forgot to mention the others.

Right?

I rode my bike down to the parade. When I saw Bill smiling over at me on the side walk, that was next to the alley way, I smiled back at him and then saw Stanley look over Bill's shoulder, probably wondering who Bill was smiling at. I then had realised right then and there that it wasn't just going to be Bill and I, it was going to be Bill, the rest of the losers and I. I wanted to cry right then and there. Not literally.

"Hey, y-you made it!" Bill stutter slightly. I smiled as I stopped riding my bike and hopped off it.

"Hey, I did!" I chuckled slightly, as I started blushing. I could hear laughing. The sounds of girls  laughing. I recognised it quickly. Evelyn and Beverly. First of all, what were they doing and second of all what were they laughing at. I decided to walk ok past Bill and Stanley, to see what the two girls where up to and to also put my bike against the wall since I didn't want to keep holding the bike's handle bars since it started to hurt my hands. As I walked over, along with my bike, I saw them. Evelyn was holding Beverly's hand as Beverly was trying to ride Evelyn's skateboard. My heart dropped. Eve said she'd teach me how to skateboard one day. She'd never let anyone use her skateboard unless it was her number one best friend in the whole world which was me. She even said that to be when she first got the damn skateboard.

I never wanted to learn how to ride it since I was scared of it. This year I told her I'd try sometime during the summer, she was so happy, now if I asked she probably would say no. I felt myself glaring at Beverly. I just wanted to go home and cry. I don't even know if Eve and I are still friends or not.

I looked away from the two, feeling hurt. I look over at the parade starting, smile slightly.

The parade had started, everyone crowding the sidewalks, Bill, Stanley, Ben, Mike, Eve and I all crowded around a poster on the alleyway brick wall, a poster of Eddie, Ed', Corcoran. Richie was somewhere, distracting some guy in the parade as Eddie went to go get ice cream, for himself and for Richie.

"They said they found part of his hand all chewed up near the standpipe." Stanley stated, his voice shaky.

"He asked to borrow a pencil once." Ben said.

Bill lifted the poster up, revealing another missing poster, only this time it was Betty Rimpson.

"It's like she's be- been f-forgotten because Corcoran is m-missing." Bill stuttered as he started to flick through more of the posters. I frowned.

"Is it ever going to end?" Stanley asked.

"I hope." I mumbled.

"What the fuck dude!?" I hear someone shout as I looked over, seeing that someone was Richie. He walked over towards us, Eddie also walked over after getting ice cream, he handed Richie his ice cream and Richie took the ice cream in his hands. I smirked a little, I could see the tension between the two, but decided not to say anything, I turned back looking at the poster.
