"Come on!" I pleaded. "Get in the water!"
"I don't feel like it." Tessa, my best friend said.
"Then I'll just have to pull you in!" I laughed as I tugged on Tessa's arm. She jumped back screaming.
"No!!" She said breaking out into tears, "You don't understand!"
"I really am sorry, and no I don't understand."
Tessa was running the sand coming up from behind her feet as she was doing so. Lucky for me, I was on the Rosin Town running team. So I caught up pretty quickly.
"Rachel, I am sorry, but I can't get in the water anymore." Tessa said.
"But Tess, the water is our home!" I said.
"It is for me, but not for you!" Tessa's voice level was raising.
"Rachel, if you don't see me again, tell my parents I love them, okay?"
Tessa was getting in her car now. A Black Mercedes.
I was getting on my bike trying to catch up with her as fast as I could. "Oh, Tess.." I sighed.

As she was pulling up into her driveway, I following behind her was out of breath.
"I'm sorry." Tessa looked at me. "I really am. I mean, the water is our home, and well, I can't tell you why I can't get in around just anybody."
"But, I am your best friend!" I pointed out. "And your Mom and Dad are your Mom and Dad, Tess. You can tell them anything."
Tessa sighed, "Not just anything." Her voice faded away, at the last part.
"But, Tess!"
"Shut up Rach!" Tessa screamed. "You will never know! Stop trying so hard! I mean, I know your my Best Friend and all but -"
"Whatever."

I put my kickstand down and put my bike in the garage. I sighed. I mean what wouldn't my Best Friend Tell ME! I just can't think of anything Tess wouldn't tell me. I am so confused
About an hour later I heard my phone ring.
I loved my Ringtone. The Show Goes On by Lupe Fiasco.
I looked at the caller-ID it said, "Tess my BFF"
Uh, no thanks. Why would I want to talk to her now?
I texted her instead.
Rach: I don't want to talk 2 u
Tess my BFF: look, i'm sorrz i yelled at u. my anger just got the best of me.
Rach: I'm ur BFF Tess. IDK what you wouldn't tell me.
Tess my BFF: If u really want to no, come to the bayside tonight at nine. meat u there. :)
Rach: Be There l8ter. Thanks Tess my BFF.
Tess my BFF: Wha???
Rach: Nothin. See u L8ter.
Tess my BFF: BIBI
I will definitely be there.
