Still bewildered, I turned around and headed back into the kitchen with the kids.
That man is very weird. What was his problem? It was almost as though he didn't know his parents had a slave. Maybe he's jealous that they have a slave and he possibly doesn't.
"Are you feeling better?" I asked Celine who was sitting on one of the stool at the breakfast bar in the kitchen smiling wildly.
"Yes, I feel all better!" She exclaimed with a toothy grin. "And my bwother is back!"
"That's good to hear sweetheart. Are you hungry? Do you want me to make you something to eat?"
"YES PLEASE." She squealed.
"Okay what do you propose you eat?"
"Gwilled cheese please."
"Okay."
I kissed Celine's forehead and brought the twin's booster seats at the breakfast bar.
And I watched as the twins smiled and swung their arms around in excitement.
I got started on their lunch, once it was ready I handed Celine her grilled cheese sandwich. I let the other cool down, and cut it up into bite size pieces for the twins and handed it to them.
I watched with a smile as the twins dug into their food with cheese all over their faces.
"You're very good with the kids."
I jumped and turned around facing Sebastian.
"Um yes, I have to. And it's because I love kids. Celine and the twins are delightful to be around sir." I replied
"Well that's good to hear. And please, call me Sebastian."
"Okay.... Sebastian."
It feels weird rolling off my tongue. I'm usually only ever allowed to call people sir or ma'am.
"Good." He said with what seemed to be a grin.
"Umm... Sebastian would you like anything to eat?" I said looking at the kids eat.
"No thank you, I ate on my way here."
"Okay."
"Um" God, why do I keep saying um?
"If you don't mind me asking, why are you here?""I haven't seen my parents in awhile and I thought I'd visit for awhile." He answered in a weird tone.... Almost sarcastic.
"Oh that's wonderful." I said ignoring his weird tone. "But your parents have gone on a business trip for a couple of months."
"Oh, how unfortunate. I'll stay here I suppose - well at least until they get back." He said nonchalantly.
Something is off about him. I don't know exactly what it is. But it's weird.
"Would your parents mind if you do so?"
"I don't think so no."
"Okay alright." I said
"Can you show me to my room please." He asked taking his coat off once again.
Does he not remember where his old room was? And where is his luggage?
"Uh, yea sure. Right this way." I said pointing to the grand stairway.
I walked up the spiral staircase and showed him to the fifth room on the right.
"Right in here." I said opening the door and moving out of the way to allow Sebastian to enter the room.
"Thank you, I shall be out in a little while. I need a bit of sleep." He said walking into the room and placing his coat on the bed.
"Okay, just call me if you need anything."
I have to stick with the rules of my job and offer anyone who visits assistance if needed.
"Thank you but I'm quite fine." He said walking towards the door with a small smile on his face.
"Alright, I'll be going then."
And with that I walked back downstairs deep in thought.
Why did Sebastian need to be shown to a room, and why does he not have any luggage with him? Does he have some in his car, or maybe a place he was staying at?
Thinking about this is giving me a headache, so taking my mind off that issue, I walked over to the kid's playroom and started cleaning up all of the mess and put away their toys. Once I finished with that I walked back to the kitchen where the kids were finishing their lunch.
"All done?" I said picking up Celine's empty plate off the breakfast bar.
"Yes thank you." She said with a big yawn.
"Time for a nap." I said picking Celine off of stool she was sitting on and placed her on the ground.
"No! I'm not tired!" She said with a frown and a yawn following right after.
"Yes it's time for a nap, and maybe I'll give you some ice cream after your dinner?" I said bribing her into getting some sleep.
"Okay!" She said cheerfully.
"Okay-" I looked over at the twins who where shifting impatiently in their seats, seconds from crying.
"Celine go on upstairs I'll be up in a minute to tuck you in."
"Okay." And she skipped up the stairs toward her room.
I turned around and walked over to the twins who were now crying their little eyes out.
"Okay, okay." I said taking them out of their seats and picking them up into my arms.
"You two need some sleep too." I said
I picked both of them up into my arms the best I could and I carried them into their nursery. I stayed in their for about five minutes until they fell asleep, ten kissed their forehead and left the room.
I walked over to Celine's room and noticed she already fell asleep in the blanket I made for her on her Birthday. She only ever uses it when her parents are not around. But she loves it dearly, considering her parents were so busy with work, they forgot all about her Birthday. My blanket was the only thing she got, but she was content with it.
I walked over to her sleeping figure, and bent down and kissed her forehead. "I love you." I whispered got up and turned around, but nearly gads heart attack in the process of doing so.
Sebastian was behind me staring at Celine and I.
"Goodness, you scared me half to death." I whispered letting out a breath of relief.
I walked out of the room and closed the bedroom door behind me gently.
"How long have you been standing there?" I asked curiously.
"Long enough to know how much you care for Celine and the twins."
"Oh." I said swiping my dress to get rid of any wrinkles.
"Do my parents even acknowledged all that you do here?"
"Well, I don't know. I think that's something you should ask your parents."
"I guess your right."
"Well I'm just gonna to the last set of dishes and head to bed for a nap, I will prepare dinner in an hour."
"Alright."
And with that he turned around and walked back into his room.
He's definitely a weird one.
