Ulyssa x Scar

Ulyssa's POV

Gasping, I looked at the man in front of me. He had jut killed another State Alchemist and, unfortunately for me, I was in the wrong place at the wrong time. He was the State Alchemist killer Scar. However, unlike others, I knew that he was an Ishbalan. My elder sister is in the military and she told me so I could stay safe.

Although the situation I was in wasn't my idea of safe.

Slowly, Scar turned around to face me. He must have heard me gasp. I awkwardly smiled and backed up a couple of steps. "Hi." I squeaked, scared that I might be his next victim.

"Are you in the military?" Scar questioned.

"No." I answered quickly.

"You saw what I done to him, didn't you?" He pointed at the dead State Alchemist.

I nodded.

"Can you do alchemy?" He asked.

"What's with all the questions." I said bravely, trying to make it seem that I wasn't scared.

Scar ignored me; obviously irritated that I didn't answer his question. "I'll ask you again. Can you do alchemy?"

"Yes, I can." I replied nervously.

"What type?" He pressed.

"Water alchemy." I replied.

Scar closed his eyes: in thought. He sighed. "Now that you've seen me kill someone I don't exactly want you to report to the military."

I cocked an eyebrow; not hearing what he had said.

"I'll have to take you with me." He said loud enough so I could hear him.

"Excuse me?" I replied wondering whether I heard him correctly.

"I'll have to take you with me." He repeated.

I glared at him. "Don't I get a say in this?"

"No you don't." Scar replied bluntly before walking off. "Follow me."

I rolled my eyes before following him. "Fine."

After walking for a bit in silence I decided to strike up a conversation. "So, do you travel with anyone?"

"A man named Yoki and a girl called May." He replied.

"If I may ask, how did they end up traveling with you?" I questioned.

"Yoki was being looked after by my people and then he suddenly betrayed them for money. After he was found out he just followed me. Then one day, after I had finished some business, I went back to the hideout and found that there was a girl - May- there with a small panda. Ever since then they have both been working with me." Scar explained.

"Why do you need me to help you then?" I wondered.

"Were you listening earlier?" He asked annoyed. I nodded. "There's that reason and you're alchemy is strong."

"As an accomplice?" I said nervously. Sister wouldn't appreciate me helping a criminal.

"Is something wrong with that?" He asked.

I looked up at Scar and smirked. "Well, my sister may be in the military but I'm up for a challenge now and then."

"If we're going to work together I need to know your name. You probably already know that my name is Scar." Scar stated.

"My name is Ulyssa Elwin. But you can call me Uly. Nice to meet you." I smiled at him before we turned the corner to get to his hideout.
