Chapter 2

~ 4 Years Later

Penelope Pov.

I woke up to the sound of my alarm. It was annoying. I wish I could be all grown up and get an iPhone. My mommy has that phone and I think it's super cool. I was off to school today, my first day at werewolf school. My mommy says I'll meet new kids like me and end up with a whole bunch of friends.
I was excited.

I got in the blue car and rode to school in a special chair.

Mommy asked, "Are you excited for your first day of school?"

"Of course I am! I get to meet other people who are werewolves."

"Do you miss your human friends from the Oak Hill Elementary?"

"Of course I do."

"It seems we are here, c'mon let's walk you to your teacher"

Mommy took out the keys of the car. She then unbuckled me from the seat and set me down. I grabbed my lunch bag which had my favorite cartoon Tom & Jerry. I find that series hilarious and makes me want to be a mouse.

We walked into class and my teacher introduced herself as Mrs. Berns. Once I sat down, a man came into the room. I didn't know what he was but people said he was the new TA (teacher assistant). Kids circled around him and I just wondered the whole time, who was he?

Class started within a few minutes after the man came in. The teacher started babbling about something but I couldn't help but observe the class. I noticed many of the people were focused and had a different curriculum in mind. I asked the person next to me, "Who is that scary man?"

Ryder's Pov.

"Who is that scary man?"

I was absolutely deterred by this. My own mate thinks I'm scary.

Get her to like you, idiot!

I am trying!!!

No, you are acting like a little girl and worrying about our mate being scared of you, stop being scary and put a smile on our face!!

God he was giving me a headache. I was going to reply to my wolf, Aura but then...

"Hello? Anyone there?" said the Teacher (Mrs. Addison).

"Hm? Oh sorry I was just thinking."

"Mmhmm... Well since you will be staying why don't you introduce yourself to the class?"

This is your perfect chance, take it!

"Sure," turning to the class I saw a bunch of routy kids. Huh... I cleared my throat loudly and started.

"Hello Class, I am Alpha of the Red Moon Pack, Ryder. You are to address me as Alpha Ryder. I am your superior and what you look up to. I don't take disrespect well and if I see that you aren't respecting me you are to be removed from this class immediately. Of course since this school is a part of both pack territories, I can come here whenever I may please. Pups, I expect the greatest from you and your pack mates and to work your hardest physically and mentally. Since it is your first day of school pups, I will be surveying the school and observing. Be sure to act on your best behavior."

I heard whispers in the background about me but I didn't mind it. I walked out of the room then facepalmed myself. How did I make this mate thing so much worse??

~ end of school ~

Penelope's Pov.

"My gosh, he's scary," said my best friend Jessica.

"Yeah definitely I wouldn't want to see him in the hallways ever again."

We walked to the front of the school and waited for our mom's to pick us up. We waited and talked for a few minutes then Jessica's parents had to go. I just waited and waited.. then the Office Secretary came to me and invited me inside to let me know that my parents were working late.

I just sat in my chair until some scary 5th graders came in.

I immediately looked at them and then looked down at the floor. My parents always told me to try to hide yourself from anyone scary like the monsters under my bed. So I pretended I was a part of the wall and sat down curled up in a ball. I thought I was doing a good job until someone picked me up and said, "Hmmm... this ball seems awfully bouncy, I wonder what would happen if we 'bounced' it."

I heard some snickering behind me and just when the guys were about to drop me, Alpha Ryder came in. "WHAT DO YOU THINK YOU ARE DOING!"

"Uh.. Um.. Nothing Alpha Ryder."

"It better be nothing. Only low lives will dare hurt a innocent 2nd grader. If you dare treat an underclassmen in this way, I will make sure there are consequences" ending his lecture with a snarl.

For some odd reason I began crying. I heard the 5th graders whimper away but Alpha Ryder still made sure I was okay. He hugged me closely like my mom and dad did when I got an ouchie. He whispered, "It's okay, all the bad people are gone. No reason to cry," and patted my back softly.

I stopped crying as I drifted off to sleep on soft pillows.

Hey so I know I didn't publish this chapter in forever! I know, I know... I should post more. I am those types of people who tend to start something but never finish it. I never thought that anybody would really like this book since I am new to wattpad and stuff. Thanks for the comments that you gave me @puffpuffpowerranger and @salang123. I wouldn't have made the chapter without your motivating comments.

I'll try to finish the third chapter soon (end of the week) although I need some input. Do you think I should make the next chapter in the perspective of Penelope in 2nd grade or in an older grade (4, 7, or 9th)?
