💗CH-18💗The meadow was quiet, illuminated by the soft glow of lanterns strung between the trees. The gentle sound of a distant stream mixed with the faint music from a lone musician playing near the campfire. The night felt timeless, magical — a world untouched by responsibilities.
Magnus twirled slowly in the moonlight, his long braid shimmering like silk. Alec, dressed in a plain hoodie to hide his identity as king, stood quietly, watching him with longing in his eyes. This moment was perfect, but a heavy sadness pressed on his chest. Tomorrow, Magnus would leave — back to his home, far from Alicante, far from him.
Magnus turned with a radiant smile, his amber eyes gleaming. “You’ve been quiet tonight, Alec.” He walked closer, tilting his head playfully. “Are you regretting sneaking out with me?”
Alec’s lips twitched into a faint smile. “Never.” His voice was soft but steady.
Magnus chuckled and extended his hand. “Then dance with me.”
Without hesitation, Alec took his hand and pulled him close. They began to sway gently to the distant melody, their fingers intertwined. Alec held Magnus carefully, as though afraid he might disappear if he let go.
Magnus rested his head lightly against Alec’s chest, feeling the steady rhythm of his heartbeat. “I’m glad we came here. It’s peaceful... free.”
Alec tightened his hold, his heart aching at the thought of Magnus leaving. He wanted to speak, to ask him to stay, but how could he? Magnus didn’t know the depth of his feelings.
After a long silence, Magnus spoke softly. “I’ll miss this... miss you.”
Alec froze. “You don’t have to go,” he said, his voice almost pleading.
Magnus pulled back slightly, searching Alec’s face with gentle curiosity. “I can’t stay forever, Alec. My home... my people... they need me.”
His words felt like a dagger, though there was no malice in them. Alec lowered his gaze. “What if... what if you stayed a little longer?”
Magnus frowned lightly but smiled. “Why are you saying this now?”
Alec swallowed hard, his hands trembling slightly as he held Magnus. “Because I... I don’t want you to leave.” His voice cracked despite his effort to stay composed. “Not yet.”
Magnus blinked, surprised by the intensity in Alec’s words. “Alec... I didn’t realize...”
Alec sighed, his mask slipping. “You mean more to me than you know.” He paused, struggling to find the right words. “When you’re here, it’s like... like everything makes sense.”
Magnus’s eyes softened, his heart pounding. “I... I didn’t know you felt this way.”
“I tried to hide it,” Alec admitted. “But now that you’re leaving... I can’t.”
Magnus gently cupped Alec’s face, his touch warm and grounding. “You never had to hide anything from me.”
Their foreheads touched, and for a moment, the world disappeared. There were no titles, no kingdoms, no responsibilities — only them.
“I can’t stay forever,” Magnus whispered, his voice tinged with regret. “But I will come sure again on next time .”
Relief washed over Alec’s face as he held Magnus close, their untold love finally spoken, even if just for this fleeting moment. Under the watchful stars, they swayed together, knowing that while time was limited, this night would be theirs forever.
