Mix stirs in his sleep when the sunlight peeks through the curtains, painting the room in a warm, golden hue. He blinks a few times, his eyes adjusting to the brightness, and notices how the weather outside looks calm and beautiful, as though the storm from last night never happened.

He rubs his eyes with his fists and stretches lazily, his body still relaxed from the comfort of the night. As the memories of yesterday trickle back, a soft smile spreads across his lips.

Turning his head, Mix’s gaze falls on Edin, curled up beside him. The little boy is sleeping soundly, his chest rising and falling in a steady rhythm, his hair a messy halo around his head. Mix’s heart melts at the sight, but then his eyes drift further, and he freezes for a moment.

Beside Edin lies Earth.

The man’s face is serene, his features softened in the quiet vulnerability of sleep. The golden morning light seems to kiss his skin, making it glow faintly, accentuating the sharpness of his jawline and the softness of his parted lips. His lashes cast delicate shadows on his cheeks, and the way his hair falls effortlessly across his forehead makes him look almost unreal—ethereal.

Mix feels his chest tighten as his heart skips. This beautiful, radiant man—his calm amidst the storm, his unexpected source of joy—is his boyfriend now.

Boyfriend.

The word echoes in his mind, filling him with a mix of disbelief and happiness.

Carefully, so as not to disturb the stillness of the moment, Mix props himself up on one elbow. He allows himself to just look at Earth, committing this image to memory. It feels surreal, almost as if he’s dreaming again, but the warmth in his chest reminds him it’s real.

Earth shifts slightly, his brows furrowing in response to the light, and a soft hum escapes his lips. Mix quickly lies back down, trying not to wake him, but he can’t help the chuckle that bubbles up as Earth scrunches his nose, turning toward Edin as though seeking the little boy’s warmth.

A sudden wave of gratitude washes over Mix as he watches them both. This scene—so simple yet so profound—is something he never thought he’d have. A family-like warmth, the sense of belonging, the quiet kind of love that fills a space without needing words.

Quietly, Mix reaches out, brushing a strand of hair from Earth’s forehead. His fingers linger, his smile widening.

In this peaceful moment, with the sunlight streaming in and the sound of soft breathing filling the room, Mix feels it in every corner of his being: he’s exactly where he’s meant to be.

Earth stirs slightly as Mix’s hand brushes against his face, his lips curling into a soft smile even before his eyes open. The warmth of Mix’s touch is unmistakable, and when Earth finally opens his eyes, he finds Mix staring at him. Caught in the act, Mix quickly pulls his hand back, embarrassed, but Earth moves faster, gently catching it and guiding it back to his cheek.

“Good morning,” Earth murmurs, his voice still husky from sleep, his eyes locking onto Mix’s.

“Good morning,” Mix replies, his thumbs instinctively rubbing soft circles against Earth’s skin.

A peaceful silence falls between them until Edin stirs beside them, muttering something incoherent as he shifts positions. Both adults freeze for a moment, watching him, but when Edin settles back into a deep sleep, they exchange amused smiles before carefully climbing out of bed.
