the office room was dimly lighten as seoyun rushed and hastily opened the door open to find jake and joon sitting in front of large screens as the holographic glow fell on their faces. there were surrounded by huge amount of datas and logs of the glitches in the interlinked system that hadn't yet created havoc in their world but if it continued it would have. jake looked up through his glasses. "you're here."
"one user? are you sure?" joon turned around to face jake. he just nodded.
"it's crazy. how could one person possibly do all that. maybe it's a group of people helping him or not unless they had insane coding skills and access to classified protocols."
"what would be his name? or her?"
"wait, please," this time seoyun spoke for the first time. she was trembling. she sat back on a chair as she scrolled through.
she frowned. "this username... it's the same one that kept popping up in the anomalies. whoever this is, they've been in the system since day one."
"by the way, mr kang doesn't know about this, right?"
they were working in secret this time anyway.
joon snored. "you know what's more strange? the interlinked system is locked. nobody except for the people connected to it can do something like this."
jake fixed his black framed glasses. "exactly. but it's not just hacking. it's more like they are entering into systems that they have partially created and have access to. it's... genius-level sabotage."
seoyun's heart raced as she pieced the puzzle together. the glitches, the sudden malfunctions, the strange way the system always seemed to fix itself right after a major failure. no, it couldn't be.
then the username showed up. seoyun couldn't help but gasp.
seoyun park.
"what?"
seoyun started to panic.
"d-do you guys trust me?"
they both looked at her. "seoyun? what's going on?"
"do you guys trust me!" her voice was louder this time.
joon ran to her and gave her a tight hug. "we do! of course, but what's going on seoyun? why does it say your name? how are you connected?"
"seoyun- we...are a team, remember? please, do not panic. let's figure it out," the both of them made her sit and relax.
"i don't get it. but last time i searched up on this, there were some connections- i- let's trace their location. quick."
"the signal's been bouncing between dimensions," joon checked.
"they aren't from this world."
seoyun shook her head.
