Holiday's warmth

A/N: MERRY CHRISTMAS! SINSMAS! HEARTHSWARMING!
AND ANY I FORGOT lol, have a holiday 'special' to eat up
while I figure out the best route to put down for our boys.
This lil story will be not connected to the main one, just its own fun thing :)

It was calm in the kingdom.. the sun in the sky was seen less and less often as days went on, a phenomenon Sun didn't understand. All he knew was that it was when things began to get more cold, uncomfortable, and the Lord was more irritable as well. He didn't understand why Lord Eclipse hated it, yet he allowed it to occur.

"Couldn't he just make it stop being cold? Have it be the same feeling all the time? Nice and warm weather. Why does he allow it.." Sun pondered to himself as he looked out the library window, which he was cleaning before his mind drifted off. His body trembles as cold air leaks through the window and he steps away, rubbing at his arms which of course did little to help.

"I wish he wouldn't allow it to get so cold. It makes me feel sad.. afraid too. What if I woke up and my body was stiff and-" He has a sudden realization and gasps, "I COULD BECOME BRITTLE AND BROKEN!! AAHHHHHHH-"


"𝑺𝑼𝑵 𝑺𝑯𝑼𝑻 𝑻𝑯𝑬 𝑭𝑼𝑪𝑲 𝑼𝑷!!!!"

Sun quickly dropped his cleaning gear and covered his mouth, he turns his gaze towards the voice, Lord Eclipse definitely is in a bad mood already. Sun will be punished for sure if its not set right! So he quickly approaches the irritated god and drops to the floor, folding his hands together and above his head as he bows on the floor to Eclipse, "Forgive my annoyance, sire...! I- I- I- I- I didn't know you were s- s- s-so close to the area and I-"

"Silence." 

Sun felt a odd sensation in his neck and he looked up at Eclipse, whom was holding his Star. He tried to speak but only static poured from his vocal box, he blinks a few times in confusion. Testingly speaking a few times but each attempt resulted in more static. "Ah, much better." Eclipse looked down on Sun with a satisfied, smug smirk. He reaches down a claw and strokes Sun's chin, making Sun's rays spin a bit and more loud static emit from his vocal box.

"Seeing you react to such a simple touch is so hilarious, you know that? Heh.. now then, I shall return your voice if you promise- no, swear that you will not make such loud screeches ever again." He crosses his upper arms and rests his lower arms on his hips, "Unless the situation does indeed constitute it, obviously. So, do you promise?" Eclipse leans down to get closer to Sun.

Sun frantically nods in agreement "!!!!!!" 

With a laugh, Eclipse moves the star in his hand and it pulsates for a moment, the sensation in Sun's neck vanishes. "Ahhhhh... *HACK* ugh I hated that.. I will be honest, my lord, I hated that feeling.." Sun whimpers as he rubs at his neck, Eclipse turns to start walking away and Sun perks up. "M- my lord..! May I uhhh.. ask a question..?" His rays shrink as his voice goes sheepish at the end. "...Well you already have, but I will be generous enough to offer you another one." Eclipse puts his hands behind his back and he turns to face Sun again.

Sun stands up and brushes himself off, "You are able to control everything, do as you wish.. so why do you allow the sky-sun to come around less often? I notice you dislike the cold, you don't get rid of it though. Why..?"

Eclipse gives a small chuckle in response, he gestures Sun to follow him as he starts walking out of the library and into the grand hall. Sun obediently follows behind, bouncing a bit in his step like a puppy. 

"Why I keep the cold, you ask. I keep it around as a reminder. This time of year is one that I'd see be used for.. Nice.. reasons. Reasons I myself never was able to indulge in, and I'm better off without having to! The cruel cold is now as it should be. It's also a reminder that while I was left in the cold and those IDIOTS had their little family time, their little Christmas FUN, and now I am the only one still standing!!"Eclipse's tone went from neutral to mocking to wrathful very quickly.

Sun holds his hands to his chest, rubbing them together occasionally to give himself comfort, "W- who..? My lord..?" 

Eclipse paused his steps. He smiles... "Nobody you need to worry about anymore. They were merely idiots who caused trouble, spent time together, had..." his voice falters "Had.. love for each other.." he slowly looks away as his mind drifts off somewhere.

"What is Christmas, my lord??" Sun tilts his head as the word is new to him. Eclipse scoffs, "Its a waste of time. In other dimensions, people would exchange presents, indulge in large meals, have massive celebrations, and decorations everywhere. Families came together over something so nonsensical."

Sun tries to imagine something with what Eclipse is describing, "That.. wow my lord, I'd love to see an event like that someday!"

Eclipse raised a brow at him (if he has one lol), "Oh really? You'd 'love' to see it, hm?" Sun nods with a nervous smile, "Yes, my lord.. it sounds warm!", the servant wraps his arms around himself to emphasize his description. Warm... a feeling Eclipse hasn't felt in years, if he ever had in the first place. Sun felt warm from just the thought of an event new to him? Eclipse narrows his eyes at the servant. "It is supposed to be warm, as far as I'm aware. But its not something for us to be concerned about anymore." Speaking more firmly.

Sun looks disappointed; pursing his lips and glancing away. "Its not something for us to be concerned about anymore, Sun." Eclipse repeated, his eyes flashing red in warning. Sun shakes his head quick to regain his usual sheepish demeanor, "Right..! Yes sire, just.. um.. are there any uhhh.. r- records of this 'Christmas' thing I could maaaybe see?" The poor sunshine was eager for something new to learn about, its a bold move to ask Eclipse for records of any kind.

Eclipse swiftly gets in Sun's face and speaks very lowly, "I will only say this one more time. SUN. 'Its.. NOT.. something for us to be concerned about anymore.' Am I CRYSTAL clear?"

Sun covers his head and flinches back away from the god, "y..yes.." Another narrowing glance from Eclipse causes Sun to correct himself, "Yes, my lord.." Eclipse nods and stands upright, "Good. Now for talking back to me, you will be cleaning the entirety of the cellar. I don't care if it takes you all NIGHT, it will be done!" Sun shrinks in his place, then just nods and rushes off to fulfill his lords command. 

Eclipse lets out a long sigh and he whips his cape around to continue walking through the hall. "That little shit wants to see Christmas... of course he does. His old life had his brother.." he clutches his fists, "Moon. Heh, I don't think they ever got a Christmas together. But it seems to have left an impression on Sun anyway, even after a memory wipe."

The doors to his private chambers opens by itself as Eclipse walks inside, he slips his cape off and lets it fall to the floor. Feeling frustrated by Sun's questions and insistence to learn more about Christmas, he grumbles under his breath.. uttering words like 'brat', or 'idiot', 'how dare he question', so on.

A draft blows through the chamber, Eclipse glares at his window as he hears a particularly harsh gust of wind blow. He raises a hand and conjures up a fire ball then tosses it into a large fireplace across from his bed. The flames grow quick from the prepared wood and it crackles occasionally, Eclipse watches the hypnotic dance the flames make and he finds himself wrapping his arms around his own body.. warmth.. 

"It sounds warm, he says. Would it be as he believes?" The god's eyes widen a bit as he sees a vision in front of the fireplace; himself and Sun seated on cushions in front of the fireplace, enjoying hot chocolate, Sun hogging the little marshmallows, Eclipse smiling down at him and wrapping a blanket around them both, then holding the sweet sunray close to his side.

Eclipse watches the imaginary sight for a few moments, then feels something run down his cheek, he quickly wipes at it and glances to see if its oil or blood.. its a tear. He wipes it from his claw and shakes his head, "Why am I getting so.. pathetic? It's nothing we need to be concerned about anymore." 

...concerned about anymore? Was there ever a concern for a simple holiday? One he never even had the opportunity to partake in? Eclipse feels himself getting angry.. why did he allow the winters to come? He could easily change it with the Star, yet he doesn't. Why...

"To remember what was taken from me.. but I've taken everything from them. Sun is the only one left as well. Perhaps it's time I allowed myself to experience the 'warmth' Sun was mentioning. This could be fun.."
