Okay, I know that I might get criticism for this type of rant, but it's really important, especially with the age range of most of the people that read this.
Yes, I know you've all been depressed. In fact, most of my friends are suffering some type of depression right now, whether it'd be mild or severe, chronic or acute. In fact, I, myself, have had a short bout of depression. It's fairly normal at this age, since hormones are going on. But what about those friends who are always like "I'm going to die"?
Those aren't words that I take lightly. In fact, the first thing I think is, "Is this person suicidal?" Seriously though, I have had enough of hearing people self-harm, put themselves down, and even commit suicide. That's nonsense. I have friends who think self-harm is alright because it "takes away the pain." What kind of nonsense is that?
Self-harming is NOT ALRIGHT. Have you ever bothered to think about what kind of risks there are? Cutting? If what you use to cut with is rusty, you have that risk of tetanus. What if your blood doesn't clot properly? You could end up bleeding to death or getting sick. You know what, I'm not going to go into further detail about self-harming risks because I will end up scarring your minds.
And then, there's the biggest issue of all. Suicide. There are news reports about teenagers committing suicide, some even as young as twelve! Is that what society is evolving into? Is that the kind of world that you want to show to your younger siblings or children in the future? Some of my friends think that the words "I'm going to die." can be used as a joke. Seriously?! I am paranoid as it is. I see my friends sitting off to the side, isolating themselves from others and avoiding contact with any person that tries to help out.
Before you even think about doing those stuff, you have to talk to someone. Yes, I know. Talking to people is the worst thing in the world, but how do you expect to get through it when don't talk it through? I have friends who push others away and then say that everyone ignores them. Hello! You're the one who isolated yourself.
I just want to let you guys know this. You're perfect. You may not see it right now, but you're perfect. You have a skill that makes you different from everyone else. You're a superstar. Right now, you might not see it that way, but what do stars do? They light up the sky. Someday, you will light up the sky. I can guarantee this. Just wait. Don't hurt others by hurting yourself. It hurts them even more.
A/N: I dedicate this chapter to all of you who have self-harmed, been through depression, or even attempted suicide. You guys are fighters!
