Troian's P.O.V.

"Hey Keegs!" I greet one of my closest friends as the door swings open. "Hey Troi! Ready to rehearse?" he closes the door with his foot and gestures to the pizza he's holding with a smile. "Oh definitely," I laugh and get up to help him. After grabbing the cardboard pizza box I run to my room to grab my script. "Let's eat after so that we don't procrastinate," I suggest with a laugh. "Good idea, knowing us!" Keegan replies and pushes the pizza away. I move over to the couch and he follows me like an obedient dog. "Uh let's start here," I say showing him what page to turn to. He clears his throat, "Pretending not to love you is the hardest thing I've ever done." I look into his crystal clear blue eyes and kiss him. He pulls away and I whisper, "I love you Keegan." He looks confused, "I think you meant Toby." I look at him firmly, "No I meant Keegan."

"Troi... Troian. Bells. Troian! Spencer!" I hear a voice trying to wake me up. "Yeah yeah I'm up," I say groggily. It's Lucy. "Are you okay?" she questions me. "Yeah of course. Now can I go back to bed?" I say annoyed. "First off, you kept saying Keegan over and over again. Secondly, are you serious right now," she says looking at me like I grew another head. "What?" then it hit me, "OH MY GOD TODAY IS MY WEDDING."

I jump out of my comfy blanket and grab Lucy's hand as I run to the bathroom. "I LOOK LIKE A MESS!" I exclaim groaning. "You are so lucky we decided to wake you up early," she mumbles. She grabs my hand and pulls me back into the hotel's bedroom. "Troian... Why were you saying Keegan's name? Were you... dreaming about him?" she asks me. I sigh before answering, "Yeah but it was nothing, I swear. We were practicing lines and then we kissed and then I said I loved him... as in Keegan not Toby."

We were silent for a couple of moments before she said something, "Troi, today is the biggest day of your life. You will remember this day forever. Don't remember it as the moment you became committed to the wrong guy." I get up and look at myself in the mirror. What was I going to do? I turned my head to look at her, "You're right. I'll talk to Patrick." I go into the bathroom to brush my teeth and I hear the door close softly as I move into the closet. Eyeing the outfits I packed I mentally choose one and go to finish getting ready.

~time skip~

I adjust my hair in the mirror taking my try at Shay's mirror face and fail miserably. I laugh a little and then move to the full body mirror. I look at my red and black plaid shirt that I tucked into some high-waisted black shorts. I unbuttoned another button on my shirt and fix the collar before pulling on some super high socks. I grab a black hat from my closet and slip into my tall brown boots. I quickly rush to the bathroom and grab a boot necklace and black watch before finally slipping out the door with a few quick glances around the room. {picture of Troian is the outfit}

I check my phone for the first time today and see I have a missed call from Lulu, my best friend, and Patrick, my fiancé. I text him to meet me at the little cafe in the hotel we're staying at. We decided to get separate rooms to not jinx the wedding. Seems like it was jinxed anyway. I add an 'it's urgent' to make sure he shows up quickly and shortly after he replies. I glance at my phone screen as I walk, 'everything ok?' I stop in the middle of a crowded hallway, 'yeah' 'well idk' 'no'. I send all three, one after the other rapidly, before shoving my phone back into my pocket so I can ignore Patrick for the time being.

I arrive to the cafe and give the hostess my name before sitting down. Then I stand back up... And start pacing. I start running ideas of what to say to him.

"I'm sorry"  Yeah like that will fix canceling our wedding on the day of.

"It's not you it's me" Wow Troian real cliché.

"You'll find the right girl one day"  He did but a stupid dream ruined it all.

I sigh, nothing will fix this. "Troh-ee-an?" A server attempts to call name and I get up to greet him. "It's Troy-an," I say correcting the young boy. "Oh sorry. Right this way," he replies mumbling the first part. He leads me to a table in the corner, just what I asked for. Although the restaurant was pretty packed I was hoping for the conversation to not leave our table. "Thank you," I say sitting down before he scurries away. I look at the menu and order Patrick an omelet and get chocolate pancakes for myself.

After several minutes of scrolling through social media I finally see Patrick jogging to the cafe. The hostess points to me and he walks over right as the food is set down. I thank the waiter and take a sip of water as my breathing starts to get irregular. "Breathe T-Bird, you can do this." I get up to hug Patrick and quickly sit down before he gets a chance to kiss me. "Thanks for the omelet babe, it's my favorite," he smiles at me before his face turns serious, "So what's wrong?"

I take a few deep breathes, "I'm sorry. I don't think I'm ready to get married," I hold back tears as he takes it in. A few heads from nearby tables are now turned and even though they look away I know they're still listening. "Listen Pat, you're a great guy and this doesn't mean I don't still love you because I do. I do love you and I really hope we can get married someday but I'm not ready to commit. And I know it's short notice but I didn't want to make a mistake because I will always put my happiness first. And I'm--I'm just sorry."

I blow air out of my mouth as a freaking piano was lifted off my shoulder. Patrick gets ahold of the waiter, "Can I get this to-go please?" He gestures to the omelet. "Uh me too please. Separate boxes please," I say right after. The waiter nods and grabs our plates. "Troian... Are you sure? I mean, we're meant for each other. There has to be some deeper meaning for this outburst," he says after making sure the waiter is far away enough. I look at him shocked, "Of course I know! I wouldn't just spring this on you and then say... 'Oh wait JUST KIDDING! I change my mind!'"

The waiter comes back with our boxes and I smile before putting down rnough cash to cover the meal and scooting my chair out. "Don't forget the tip," I say before standing up and walking out of the restaurant. What started out as a slow walk turned into a quick sprint as I felt the guilt creep from my mind, to my eyes sockets, and escaping as H20... aka tears. I grab the card that unlocks the door and slam it into the slot before frantically twisting the doorknob and pushing through to my room. I text Lucy to come over asap and throw my accessories onto the floor before curling into a ball on the bed.

After what seemed like hours of crying I heard the door, that connected our rooms, open. "Oh my gosh, Troi," Lucy rushes to my side as I wipe my face with the back of my hand. "Hi Lucifer," I say and we both glumly laugh. She climbs next to me and engulfs me in the biggest hug she could give me... which was quite small no surprise. "I already announced that the wedding was cancelled," she says. "Thank you, Lucy. For everything," I say sincerely. "So when should I expect to be bombarded my people's pity?" I say... not so sincerely.

She punches me lightly, "I told everyone that you need your space, but Keegs seemed to be set on seeing you. Soooo, I told him you'd meet for dinner." She wiggles her eyebrows and we both laughed. Realizing what she said my eyes widen, "I'm sorry what?" She gives an awkward smile, "Uhhhhh you heard me!" I laugh at her attempted sass. "Well ok then!" we both giggle like little girls as we prepare for my 'not official date with Keegan.'
