Ashlyn smacked the button on her alarm clock, interrupting the obnoxious beeping from the device. A groan fell from her lips as she sat up in bed, her blanket falling onto her lap. She hadn't realized how tired she really was until after the concert. She was definitely glad that her concerts were always held during the weekends, which gave her time to rest.
Unfortunately today wasn't a resting day, she and her friends had plans to hang out today. She was never going to hear the end of it from Taylor if she skipped today's hang out. So she was going to suck it up, and go.
Speaking of Taylor,
Ashlyn's attention was drawn to her phone when she heard the familiar notification sound. She reached over and picked it up from her nightstand, then opened the notification.
Tay 💜 (9:05am): Hangout today, don't forget >:)
"Of course she's reminding me, classic Taylor." Ashlyn muttered to herself, playfully rolling her eyes. She stayed in bed for another 5 minutes before forcing herself to get up from the comfortable space. She extended her arms into the air, taking a moment to stretch out her joints.
Some moments later, a knock on her bedroom door startled her. The door opened to reveal her father, "good morning, Trooper." he greeted with a smile, his bed head was an obvious sign that he'd just woken up. "Morning dad." Ashlyn returned the greeting, sitting down on her bed. "Are you still going out with your friends today?" Mike questioned, leaning against the doorframe.
Ashlyn nodded, being interrupted by a yawn before she spoke. "Yeah, I am. I don't know how long we'll be out though." Her father nodded, "just make sure you're home before dark, okay?" Ashlyn gave him a thumbs up in reply.
"Now, I'm going back to bed." Mike saluted his daughter before closing her door and going back to his bedroom. Now Ashlyn knows where she got her love for sleeping from, the thought made her laugh. She got up from her bed and walked over to her closet, rummaging through it to find an outfit for the day. She didn't need anything too fancy, but she still wanted to look good.
"Nope.. no.. oh hell no.." Ashlyn muttered to herself with each piece of clothing she grabbed. Why was finding an outfit so difficult? Why was she so determined to find a good one anyway. "Okay, this is fine I guess." She declared to nobody, holding up a shirt with camo patterns on it. The outfit she planned in her head was a camo shirt, a black zip-up hoodie, and black cargo pants.
Now all she had to do was find the hoodie, and the pants.

Ashlyn was currently inspecting her outfit in the body length mirror in her room. 'Good enough' she thought, shrugging her shoulders. The sound of knocking interrupted the silence in her room, her door opened to reveal her mother on the other side. "Good morning sweetie, just letting you know Taylor is here." Emma informed with that familiar motherly smile.
The girl couldn't help but reflect it with a smile of her own, "okay mom, thanks for letting me know." Ashlyn said, grabbing her set of house keys from her nightstand. She had her fully charged phone in her pocket, and her earplugs already in her ears. Despite her tolerance for loud sounds getting better over the years, she still wore the earplugs because they brought her a sense of comfort.
"Be careful out there, okay?" Emma said, placing a kiss on her daughter's head once she was close enough. "I will mom, I promise." Ashlyn assured, smiling at her mother as a source of extra reassurance. Mrs. Banner smiled and moved aside so Ashlyn could pass by. The two made their way downstairs, Mike was in the kitchen cooking up some breakfast for Emma and himself. He turned around when he heard two pairs of footsteps, "be safe out there Trooper."
