Hi there! I'm SO sorry for the late update!! To be honest, I've been in a funk. And the time I'm not in a funk, I'm too busy chasing a toddler around or with other things. I've been struggling to find the time to update weekly like I planned on doing, but I'm trying!
IMPORTANT NOTE: I took time to figure out the timeline of this story, the past and current events, and realized my counting is off!! So with that, I will be going back and editing/possibly rewriting some of the chapters to fix the timeline. From this point on, I will be writing with the correct timeline, so it may not add up with the previous chapters until I go in and fix them. I'm so sorry for the confusion.
I sincerely appreciate all of the support I have gotten for this book. It truly means the world to me. Anyways, onto the chapter!

"Do you even know where the hell you're going?" Jackson's voice echoed as he followed me down the very private hallway towards the elevator. When I was finally calm enough to realize Jackson lived on his own floor with a ginormous apartment, I was shocked to say the least. Not only was it an apartment four times the size of mine, it was gorgeously decorated with neutral shades of black, white and wooden accents scattered throughout.
His long strides quickly caught up to me, but not quick enough to catch me playfully rolling my eyes. He had a weird way of trying to be nice, but when I thought about it, he had always been that way. He clearly lacked in the communication and feelings department. He walked ahead before stopping in front of me, making me stop in my tracks.
"I can figure it out and walk home, Jackson. I have this amazing technology that shows me how to get there." I answered sarcastically as I waved my phone in the air at him. He leaned up against the wall, crossing his arms over his chest as he usually did. His right eyebrow slightly raised as his eyes flickered with amusement. I'd take that look instead of the glares of annoyance he usually gave.
I quickly peered down at my phone to check the time, and it read 11:03. Kayce's name was displayed several times on my screen as he had tried to call and text me. He was probably worried sick by this point, which drove me to want to get home even faster. Just as I began to read through his messages, my phone screen went black and I mentally cursed at my battery for dying on me.
Of course it would happen in this moment.
Sighing in defeat, my shoulders slumped before I glanced back up at Jackson to see his smirk grow even bigger, his dimples beginning to appear. I narrowed my eyes at him in a scowl in response.
"My phone died so now I need your help getting home." I finally admitted to him after a moment. He tilted his head towards me and one of his hands began to twirl in a circular motion like he was wanting me to continue. Realizing what he was doing, I rolled my eyes again and groaned in annoyance. He was still just as childish as he was back then.
