The ominous dark clouds raided the sky as the wind blew violently. Claire Tinkle and I walked home from school. We neighbors by chance, friends by choice. Both of us studied at the same school, same class although Claire was the hardworking one. The thunder rumbled through my ears as a bolt of lightning flashed instantly across the dull sky rapidly. It was going to rain, soon.

"Hey, Giselle, do want to do the math sums together?" she asked. "Yeah, okay. Why not, two minds are better than one." I replied. "Boom!" the thunder roared once again. "Hurry, it's going to rain soon." Claire said while pulling me along the way. Slowly, my fast walk became into a slight jog. Just right then, a bullet-like raindrop fell from the sky onto my face. It began drizzling slightly. The rain was so heavy that i had to strain eyes to look around, as my surroundings got really blurry.

I was so unfortunate, but what could I really do right now? "Let's walk this way" she said",its much faster." "Are you sure?" "Yeah, come on, let's go." she said in a rush while crossing the road. i looked to my left, seeing a car driving into the lane. "Claire, look out from-" before i could finish, i was interrupted by a loud shrilly scream. I looked at Claire, already in the air. Her motionless body dropped onto the hard rough ground with a thud, unconsciously lying on the ground.

The raindrops  wet the flustering-pink sweater that she wore even more. Fresh red blood stained it, at the same time dying the road crimson red. I stood rooted the ground, horrified by the bloody road. The driver got out of the car, too busy to notice I'm there. He called the ambulance, while I stood helplessly at the side of the whole scene, I kind of just froze there the whole time. I then felt something flowing down from my face. Wiping off the drip, I then realized that I was actually crying. I was at a loss, I did not know what I was doing but I ran.

I could still visualize the whole incident in my intensifying brain. "Everything is going to be okay, nothing will happen... everything is okay." I mumbled to myself while I stuttered. I was in shock, great shock. The thunder then roared again. I jumped out of seat and shivered violently. I could then feel a sharp pain coming from behind my ears. Curiously, I put my shivering hand and touched my ears. It came into contact with a thick sticky substance. I then brought my hand forward. My hand was partially smeared with streaks of blood. I ran into the bathroom, washing my hands as the water slowly dyed red. I washed away the blood behind my ears as I looked into the mirror sideways seeing my cut. It was about an inch long.

As the water brushed against my face, I began to cool down. I looked into the reflection on the mirror, seeing my red eyes. I then took a plaster and pasted it on my cut. I went back to my room, and sat on my bed, looking out of the window. Slowly, I visualized memories of joy in that particular house. I blamed myself for being so selfish, it was entirely my fault. I lied on my bed, staring at the plain white ceiling, reflecting on what I have done. I shouldn't have run away.

The heavy rain slowly turned into a light drizzle. The rain drops knocking against the window continuously made a tapping sound, making me feel even worse. All I wished now is that Claire was right here... "Click" I scanned my room thoroughly, thinking that it was Claire who entered. The vision of Claire being knocked down then came back to me again, seeing all those blood made me fear even more. I buried my head into the nearest pillow, feeling the softness comforted me a little, but it wasn't enough.

Soon, I began drifting into deep sleep. I could see Claire walking towards me. We were both in a small deserted old hut, it was partially littered with corpses. " Claire, you're still alive!" I cried out, but she didn't speak. Before I could hug her, in her shivering hand was a bloody knife, fresh red blood still dripping from the serrated knife to the dirty cemented ground, leaving dark red stains. Her face had scarlet red splatters of blood against her pale, white face. Slowly, I began moving backwards as she walked towards me with an evil grin. A haze of fear ran surrounded me , paralyzed with fear. " No Claire, no. Please, listen to me." I said while a wave of fear rushed through me. Claire then looked up at me with a glint of her evil red eyes, looking like she wants to devour me whole . She then suddenly ran up towards me, putting her hand on my neck, holding me in an awkward position. I could feel the cold razor-sharp blade against my dry throat, slowly sinking into my flesh.

"Giselle! Giselle! Wake up!" I heard a familiar voice calling me back into reality. I woke up, seeing mom looking worried. I was breaking out into cold sweat, breathing like I had an asthma attack. I closed my eyes, relived that it was just only a horrible dream. " Are you alright?" mom asked, l stared into her comforting blue eyes, to loss to answer her. "I...I guess so." I staggered slowly, trying to lie through my teeth, keeping all this to myself.

" Mom, I think I need a walk outside." I said weakly. "Sure." mom replied. I walked down the steps as they creaked. Taking my sneakers out of the shoe cabinet, reminded me of the simple choices of shoes Claire had worn. I waked out of my house, looking down, ashamed to face the world. Imaginary blood, flowed into the rusty old drain that I stood on. 'Stop it. Everything is and will be fine. Stop scaring yourself.' I muttered softly, reassuring myself once again. I looked back, I was stood no further from my house. The comforting wind caressed my cheeks gently, also bring my blond curls to the back. I straightened myself back up and let out a huge sign while walking along the streets, only a few lights hung from around me. i looked above me,finding the sliver moonlight shining from above me.

It was the worst day ever. I knew that I needed to face Claire soon or later, even if she had passed on. The life of Claire was in the lord's hands. I could do nothing else but pray. "Claire, Claire, Claire." I found myself muttering, lost in my thoughts as my clammy hands rubbed against the other continuously.

I was lost, really. I felt like running away, from all this yet I couldn't. On the way back home, I felt a slight change in the presence around me, someone must have to be behind me. Slowly, I turned my head, expecting to find myself in another's presence but there wasn't anyone behind. I could hear a whisper coming from afar, it was soft, yet clear.

"Die." the wind whispered as it fiddled with my hair. My blood then ran cold as tears brimmed my eyes and a single tear slid down my cheeks. I could then feel a sharp piercing pain in somewhere near my stomach, I looked at my navy blue jacket hoodie,  shocked to see a spot of it was turning into black. The pain was intensifying inside me as I put my hand over to hold the pain. I brought my hand back up, horrified to see my hand fully smeared with cornell red blood. black blood drip and draped onto the ground.  I fell to my knees, as my leg turned jelly.

My sight slowly got blurry,  I feel the spirits welcoming me into heaven. My sight then blanked out, everything was pitch-black.
