Sheena takes a deep breath, steeling herself before heading toward Gwen's room. Her footsteps feel heavier with every step, as though the weight of what she is about to say is physically dragging her down.

Every scenario plays out in her head—Gwen laughing off her concerns, Gwen denying everything, Gwen breaking down. How will she even begin to tell her? How can she explain what she just saw without sounding insane?

But she cannot keep this from her best friend. Whatever else is happening, Gwen deserves the truth.

When she finally reaches the door, her hand hovers over the wood for what feels like an eternity.

Just knock, she tells herself. Just tell her. She needs to know.

Her knuckles rap softly against the door, but it feels like a cannon blast in the silence of the hallway. A few moments pass, and she hears Gwen's voice, muffled but cheerful, calling out, "Coming!"

The door opens, and Gwen stands there, her hair slightly disheveled and her makeup faded from the long day. She smiles when she sees Sheena. "Bebe! What are you doing out here? Did you want to hang out? I was just about to—"

"Bebe," Sheena interrupts, her voice sharper than she intended. Gwen's smile fades, replaced by a look of concern.

"What's wrong?" Gwen asks, stepping aside to let Sheena in.

Sheena hesitates, her chest tightening. She wants to find the right words, something gentle but firm, but her emotions refuse to be tamed. She steps inside and closes the door behind her.

"You need to sit down," Sheena says, her voice shaking.

Gwen frowns, confused but compliant, sinking into the edge of the bed. "Sheena, you're scaring me. Anong nangyayari?"

Sheena paces the room, her hands running through her hair as she tries to steady herself. "I didn't want to ruin this for you, Bebe. I swear, I didn't. But I can't—I can't keep this to myself."

Gwen leans forward, her brows furrowed. "Bebe, what are you talking about? What happened ba?"

Sheena stops, turning to face her best friend, her eyes welling with tears. "I just saw something... something I never expected. And I need you to hear me out before you say anything."

Gwen's face pales, her body stiffening. "What did you see?"

Taking a deep breath, Sheena forces herself to say the words. "Sam. I saw Sam. And Marcus. They... they were kissing."

Gwen's expression freezes, her eyes widening as if she hadn't fully processed the words. "What?" she whispers, her voice barely audible.

"I saw them," Sheena continues, her voice cracking. "They were in the hallway. He called Marcus 'Babe.' They—Bebe, I wouldn't make this up. I swear."

Sheena sits beside Gwen, her heart pounding as the minutes stretch between Gwen's sobs. She had braced herself for anger, for denial, for confusion—but what she doesn't expect is the silence that follows. Gwen's trembling hands slowly fall from her face, revealing tear-streaked cheeks and red, puffy eyes. But there is something else there—something guarded, something calculating.

"I need to tell you something," Gwen says finally, her voice hoarse but steady. She wipes her tears away, inhaling deeply as though summoning courage.

Sheena tilts her head, confusion flickering across her face. "What is it? Bebe, it's you who is scaring me now."

Gwen looks at her, her eyes now cold and deliberate. "You're right about Sam and Marcus. They're... they're together. They've been together since before I met him."
