That night after the funeral the four girls met up at the Apple Rosegrille, the only food place in the stupid town.

"Why was Jenna there? I mean, didn't she and Ali hate each other?" Aria asked, frowning as she slipped her water.

"I guess she's back." Spencer said, clearly unnerved.

"That cop acted like we were suspects or something." Hanna said, a frown overtaking her face.

"Do you think we looked guilty?" Emily asked worriedly.

"Why would we? We haven't done anything wrong." Aria asked, shrugging it off.

"Except lie about the Jenna thing." Hanna pointed out.

"We didn't lie, we just never fessed up." Aria said, shrugging as the girls looked surprised by her adittude. She was usually the nice one of the group. Then again, they've all changed over the past year, Aria could have too.

More than they'd ever know.

"We promised we'd never bring up the Jenna thing again, remember? It never happened." Spencer reminded the girls.

"That's the spirit." Aria said with a smile, before turning to Hanna as they all watched her put whatever was in her flask into her cup.

"It's medicinal. Cramps!" She snapped at an old couple who was watching her with judging looks.

"I don't get it. How does "A" know something about me that only Alison knew?" Emily asked, confused.

"Ali knew all of our secrets, but... We never knew any of hers." Aria pointed out. Well, she knew one- the biggest one. That she was still alive.

"I knew some." Spencer admitted, staring at her cup.

"Go on." Aria said, intrigued.

"Talk." Hanna demanded.

"I can't." Spencer said, shaking her head.

"S! No, you are not gonna drop a bomb like that and just clam up!" Aria said, giving a new nickname, it felt more her to use letter nicknames instead of the usual nicknames.

"She'd so kill me if I told you." Spencer said, shaking her head.

"She's dead." Hanna said bluntly.

"And buried." Aria added.

"Ali was seeing someone that summer." Spencer said after a moment.

"I knew she was keeping something from me! From us." Emily backtracked when she saw the looks on everyone faces.

"Well, why didn't she want us to know?" Aria asked, confused on why she wouldn't share the good news.

"He was an older boy, and he had a girlfriend." Spencer said, shrugging.

"Who was it?" Emily asked, and Aria's 'gay-dar' started going off, causing her to raise a brow at the girl. Makes sense, she thought.

"She never told me his name." Spencer said, shaking her head.

"Which means it was someone we know." Aria pointed out. "It's the only reason she wouldn't give a name."

"That's only half the secret." Hanna pointed out.

"It's more than you ever got from her." Spencer snapped defensively.

"Maybe because we never thought to ask. How is that Ali told us nothing, and we told her everything?" Aria asked, baffled, but also impressed by the missing girl.
