𝐒𝐞𝐚𝐬𝐨𝐧 4 𝐞𝐩𝐢𝐬𝐨𝐝𝐞 8: 𝐌𝐚𝐬𝐭𝐞𝐫𝐩𝐢𝐞𝐜𝐞 𝐩𝐭 2 - - ┈┈∘┈˃̶༒˂̶┈∘┈┈ - - 𝐂𝐚𝐥𝐥𝐢𝐞 and Emily stand in front of the door as Rothschild opens in.
"Agent Prentiss, Sanchez, this is Professor Rothschild." Dave introduces.
"May I?" Emily asks as she touches his coat and he flinches back.
"A god like you doesn't have a problem with women, does he?" Dave questions.
"Do we make you nervous?" Callie asks tilting her head slightly.
"It's okay, Agents I think we have everything we need to know. This is not a man who can confront a woman on equal footing. He sneaks up on them. Gets them from behind. Blitz attacks. The original seven victims, they were alone when they came up missing. They had a routine, and he watched them. Hiding in the weeds like a snake. Like a coward." Dave baits before nodding at the two letting them go.
𝐑𝐨𝐬𝐬𝐢'𝐬 𝐏𝐎𝐕:
"That was a waste of precious time." Rothschild states.
"It's all part of the game now, isn't it?" Dave questions as Rothschild wanders.
"You think you know what game we're playing, David? You aren't even able to grasp what questions to ask."
"Such as?" Dave asks.
"How about asking what the rules are, David?"
"Rules?" Dave asks as Rothschild sets his ticking wrist watch in front of him.
"2:00. And then there are four. I told you that in less than 10 hours another five people would be dead. I never said they would die at the same time. I wonder which on it was, the woman or one of those precious babies? You have to know the rules to play the game, David. Every two hours, one of them will die. In the end, they will all be gone." Rothschild states.
"Is there something else I need to know?" Dave asks undeterred.
"Only that I'm rooting for you, David."
𝐌𝐞𝐚𝐧𝐰𝐡𝐢𝐥𝐞, Callie, Aaron and Emily come into Penelope's office where she has something to show them.
"It just popped up on my screen. It's them." Penelope confirms as they get closer to the screen.
"There are only three children." Aaron states.
"There were four when I went to go get you." Penelope says sitting down.
"What is this on their faces?" Emily questions.
"They look like gas masks." Aaron answers.
"Why would you fill a place with gas and then provide masks?" Callie asks.
"Well, maybe the gas serves some other purpose." Aaron suggests.
"Such as?" Penelope asks.
"Look how evenly they're spaced out. And the hoses are stretched as far as they can go without coming off." Aaron explains.
