The next day, I couldn't focus on anything. The hours crawled by as I waited for 2 PM to arrive. I told myself over and over that I could still back out, that I didn't have to go. But when the time came, I found myself walking toward their house, my heart racing with every step.

The house was eerily quiet when I let myself in. Anais was out for the day, and Noel's car was the only one in the driveway. My footsteps echoed in the hall as I made my way toward the studio at the back of the house.

The door was ajar, and I pushed it open slowly, my breath hitching as I saw him standing there, his back to me, his guitar resting on a stand nearby. He turned at the sound of the door, and the moment his eyes met mine, the air between us seemed to thrum with electricity.

"You came," he said softly, a small smile tugging at his lips.

"I shouldn't have," I admitted, stepping into the room anyway, my voice trembling slightly.

"No, you shouldn't have," he agreed, closing the distance between us in a few strides. "But I'm glad you did."

Before I could respond, he reached for me, his hands sliding around my waist as he pulled me close. His lips found mine, and the kiss was nothing like the first. This was urgent, needy, as if we'd both been holding back for far too long.

My hands tangled in his shirt as I pressed closer, his touch sending a thrill through me that left me breathless. His hands moved up my back, his fingers brushing against my skin, and I let out a soft gasp, my resolve crumbling entirely.

"This is madness," I whispered against his lips, my voice trembling even as I clung to him.

"It is," he agreed, his voice rough, his eyes dark with desire as he looked at me. "But I don't care anymore."

Neither did I.
