A figure came out of the light and it showed a boy. A well-groomed boy. He was skinny and his hair was color brown.His eyes were a shade of blue. His bangs covered his eyes.
"Hey" The unknown boy greeted Cass. "Are you new here?" The boy asked. "Yeah." Cass answered shyly. " Cassandra" Cass introduced herself. "Calvin" The unknown boy said.
"Welcome to Mortlake Mansion." Calvin said with a big grin on his face. What is that supposed to mean? Thought Cass."We are going to be good friends, Cass." Calvin said.
"Cass!" father called. "Time for dinner!" Cass then responded "Coming!" "I've got to go, Calvin. It was nice meeting you." Cass said.
Cass ran through the door.
"It was nice meeting you too." Calvin said under his breath as Cass walked away.
Meanwhile, when Cass was in the house, her mother put a bowl of soup on the table and they sat down to eat. "Who is this new friend of yours, Cass?" asked her father. "Cass has a friend?" her mother asked excitedly. Why are they so excited about me having a new friend? Thought Cass. "He is a boy. Well, his name is Calvin and he has brown hair and blue eyes. He is like my age." Cass said. There was silence for a moment. Then Cass broke the silence. "So, I'll just go upstairs and read." Awkward. Cass thought.
