The weeks since Vicki's death and Jamie's so-called "panic attack" hadn't been all that great. In fact far from it.

She had learned that Bonnie was a witch. That was new. Jamie still wasn't sure how she felt about their impromptu seance, especially since Bonnie had called her "Arabella." Bonnie had brushed it off, not remembering that moment at all, but Jamie wasn't convinced. Then there was the new history teacher who had given Jeremy a chance to fix his grades, so that was a positive. Stupid Logan Fell had returned for a couple of days and then up and left again, no surprise there. There was even a point where Elena didn't come home for a day, but it turns out Damon had her so yay for not being kidnapped? And apparently, Bonnie had found a freaking tomb entrance in the woods. Because why not? Mystic Falls just couldn't take a break from being creepy.

But the cherry on top? Elena was keeping something from her, and Jamie could feel it. She had become more distant and was just different. The tension was building, and Jamie knew it was only a matter of time before the truth came out.

But enough about that for now, it was finally the week of the 1950's dance.

And Jamie is not looking forward to it. Don't get her wrong, she likes the decade dances, but honestly all she wanted to do was take a nap. Like a really long one. Unfortunately, she also made a promise to Caroline that she would at least show up for 45 minutes, so she would be there for exactly 45 minutes and a second before she left. That didn't mean she had to dance though. She'd use that to her advantage.

For now though, she was hanging out with Jeremy at the Grill, playing pool. And she was totally winning. Not. She was horrible at pool, but it was fun.

She leaned over the table, tongue poking out in concentration as she lined up her shot. The cue ball veered wildly off course, missing the stripped 11 by a mile.

"Worst. Player. Ever." Jeremy teased, grinning as he chalked his cue stick.

Jamie straightened, rolling her eyes. "It's called strategy, Jer. I'm lulling you into a false sense of security."

"Yeah, sure," he laughed, taking his turn and sinking in the 8 ball effortlessly. Looking up he smiled at Jamie who didn't even look surprised that he won.

Blowing out a breath, Jamie hung her cue stick back on the wall before heading over to the bar to pick up their to-go food as Jeremy put his own cue back.

Thanking the server, Jamie grabbed the food making her way to Jer, who was talking to a girl?

"Here Jer." Jamie handed him his order.

Jeremy took it, his ears turning a little pink as the girl glanced at him with a knowing smile.

"Who's this?" Jamie asked, her gaze flickering to the shorter girl standing before her.

The girl extended a hand, her smile polite but guarded. "Anna. Nice to meet you."

Jamie gave a polite smile back. "Nice to meet you too. I see you've met my little brother."

"Yeah, we met at the library," Jeremy interjected quickly.

Jamie raised an eyebrow. "Oh, so this is library girl?"

Anna's lips quirked. "You've talked about me?

Jeremy stuttered, "I-uh-well, not really. I mean-Jamie shouldn't we be going?"

Jamie smirked. "Yeah let's go."

They quickly said goodbye to Anna as they left.

As they left the Grill, Jamie nudged Jeremy playfully. "She's cute."
