At the end of PE, I head over to where Khai is sitting. 

Or was.

Apparently we must've bored him, because he's curled up in a little ball, just sleeping in the middle of nowhere.

I sit next to him, glancing out to where Zevon is. He's talking to Mr. Burns, who's probably praising him for his athletic abilities.

Finally, I have Khai to myself.

Except that he's not really... aware.

Again, I'm proved wrong because he opens his eyes and I can see the exact moment recognition takes over. It's like that spark suddenly appears.

He smiles.

"Hi Tyrone."

"Hey. Did I wake you?" I ask.

Khai shakes his head.

"Wasn't sleeping. I'm just a little exhausted."

"Yeah, I bet. Reckon you'll be okay, though?" I ask.

Khai nods.

"I mean, I have no idea what happened but it's probably fine."

"I don't know, Khai. I mean, forgive me for being worried but I think you should look into it. I'd rather have you safe than sorry."

"Yeah... I'll talk to my mom, she's good with that kind of stuff." Khai says. "Ooh, guess what happens at the end of this month!"

"What, like in three days?"

"Yeah..."

"...Halloween?"

Khai shudders.

"That too... Halloween is kinda scary though... I don't really like it. Well... I like the candy but..."

I can't help but smile.

"You are literally so cute." I tell him. 

He blushes, becoming a little shy.

"So, what else happens at the end of this month?"

"Uhm... so it's a full moon and I was wondering if you wanted to go moon gazing with me?"

"Of course. There is, however, a Halloween party I plan on attending that night. So if you go with me to it, I'll go moon gazing with you right after. Or whenever we feel like leaving."

"Sure, I'll go with you."

"Really? I mean, I'd go moon gazing with you regardless. You don't have to."

"Ty, I'll go. When I'm with you I'm having fun." Khai says, smiling sweetly.

"Great, then-"

"Oh no Ty I need a costume! I don't have a costume!" Khai exclaims, suddenly looking very overwhelmed.

"Khai, relax. It's not happening right this moment. You have three days to prepare. Besides, do you remember that sun and moon thing we were talking about? You know, how I thought it would make an epic costume?" I try to jog his memory.

He just stares at me.

***Khai's POV***

Am I hearing this right? Does Tyrone want to have a matching costume with me? 

That's totally a couple thing, isn't it?

When I don't reply at first, Tyrone continues.

"I mean, you don't have to dress up, I don't even know if you actually want to. Or... if you even want to have matching costumes with me. I don't know, I thought it'd be cool. Unless you have something else in mind already."
