May, after healing up her Pokémon, had went out to find Drew once more. She didn't have much else to do at the time. But she would've never expected to overhear such a conversation. 'That conversation, between Brianna and that other girl from before... It wasn't a lie. It was true...' May thought to herself, frozen. Drew and Solidad were awhile gone by now. After she got control over herself again, she decided to sit down on a nearby bench. Think over what she had just heard. She pulled out the last rose Drew had given her not long ago. She looked at it as she thought. 'So, Drew has liked me this whole time after all. I can't believe it. Yet at the same time I somewhat can. I kind of suspected he liked me. But I didn't know that he had for so long.' She thought. She looked up at the sky and leaned backward a little more, her back against the bench. 'He isn't alone. He isn't the only one afraid to tell the other how they feel. I've never told anyone else, but I have liked him too. I have also hidden it for so long, unable to bring myself to tell him. But now I see, I might have to.' She concluded her thought there. She had decided that she'd have to tell him after the whole time she's been hiding those feelings away. 'I'll tell him the next time I see him. The next time we're alone together.'

There was going to be a Contest in Ecruteak City in a few weeks. May had arrived in town yesterday and decided to find Drew, in which she had come into town with. She tried to keep her mind off yesterday, but every once in a while it just kept coming back to her. She found Drew with Solidad again after a while. It looked like they were discussing things about what she had heard about yesterday too. She wasn't trying to overhear things about that again, it just happened. Solidad was really just trying to help Drew confess. Apparently it would happen after the Contest. Or sooner. After they stopped talking about that, May walked up. She wanted to get in a practice battle with Drew. "Hey Drew. I haven't seen you since yesterday." She said, bringing up a short conversation. Drew looked a little stunned to see her at that time. Like he was afraid that she had overheard. "Oh, hey May. What's up?" Drew asks. "Nothing much, but how about a battle? The Contest will be coming up in a few weeks and I think starting to prepare now is a good idea." May replies, and Drew nods. He turns to Solidad. "You want to watch us?" He asks his friend. "I don't see why not." Solidad replied. The three of them went to a nearby space that was a good spot to battle. Solidad decided to judge. "Ok! Each trainer will use one Pokémon of their choice! The person to knock out the opposing Pokémon is the winner! Now, begin!" Solidad announced, signaling May and Drew to send out their Pokémon. "Glaceon, take the stage!" "You're up, Flygon!" They both called out, and the battle was getting underway. "Flygon, Flamethrower!" Drew was going up first. "Mirror Coat, Glaceon!" May commanded. Flygon's Flamethrower was shot back at it directly, dealing quite a lot of damage. "Flygon! Are you alright?" He calls out, concerned. Flygon nods it's head and flies high into the air. "Steel Wing, Flygon!" Drew calls out again, and Flygon dives down towards Glaceon. "Intercept with Iron Tail!" May commands, and the two attacks collide with a great amount of force, creating a cloud of smoke. As the dust settled, the two Pokémon were looking exhausted. "Can you go on, Glaceon?" May asks her Pokémon, which nods. Drew had also done the same. "DragonBreath, Flygon!" "Dodge and counter with Shadow Ball!" Flygon and Glaceon did just that, with Flygon launching a DragonBreath, Glaceon leaping into the air to dodge, and hitting Flygon's wing with Shadow Ball. "Right where we want her! Quick, Flamethrower while Glaceon's in the air!" Drew commanded. That was his plan all along. "What?!" May asked as her Glaceon was struck directly with a super effective Flamethrower, falling to the ground in defeat. "Glaceon!" May called out, but Glaceon was down. Drew had won. Both trainers returned their Pokémon and walked up to each other. "Nice battle, May. You put up a great fight." "Yea, but it still wasn't enough to beat you. I'll win next time, Drew!" "You probably will. But who knows?" Solidad said as she cut into the conversation. Both turned to her. "The Contest will be starting in two weeks. For now we should all get some rest. That battle made time fly; it's already sunset." Solidad continued. "Wha-? Oh, wow, it is sunset! W-well then, I think I'm gonna find a place to spend the night. See you two tomorrow!" May exclaimed as she ran off. Drew laughed a little at all that, and then realized that he should do the same. "I'm gonna find a place too. Later, Solidad." He told his friend. "Hey, Drew? You figure out when you're gonna tell May?" Solidad was eager to know. Drew stopped. "Probably around the time of the Contest. I don't really know, I'll just see what happens." He answered. Then he walked off.
