The five of us sat on stools around the little square table by the window of the local coffee shop, A Whole Latte Love. The table had a paper tablecloth and we all had packs of crayons, so we colored and wrote and laughed and talked about everything while we sipped our frappuccinos. Delainee would randomly get a text and announce another person's attendance to our "Peach Party" as Drew was calling it.
"Hey guys," Delainee said, "Logan and Sam are coming to meet us right about no-"
She was cut off by the bell that chimed when the door opened and she grinned smugly at her perfect timing. Logan and Sam walked over to our table, and everyone stood up to introduce us.
"Logan, Sam, this is Tinley and Nadia. They just moved in next to Kendall and Drew," Delainee said.
"Hey, I'm Logan," the taller one said, smiling as he shook our hands. Then the shorter one stepped up and waggled his eyebrows.
"And I'm Sam," he said, shaking Nadia's hand quickly and shaking mine for a longer amount of time then was necessary, making me feel extremely uncomfortable.
I pulled my hand back and slightly shifted away from Sam. Kendall and Drew held in their laughter from across the table, and I shot them a glare.
"So," Delainee said, "what do you guys think about going to the Peach later to introduce Nadia and Tinley to everyone?"
Logan nodded. "Sounds good," he said, sitting down next to Kendall and Delainee.
"Yeah," Sam said, immediately sitting down next to me, "that would be a lot of fun." He scooted even closer towards me, causing Kendall and Drew to explode with silent laughter on their end of the table. I squeezed my eyes shut and turned slowly away from Sam.
"So!" I piped up to make conversation. "Who all is going to the Peach?"
"Whoa!" Sam shouted across the table, causing us to all flinch. "You didn't tell me they were from across the pond!" Then, with a sly grin, he leaned over to me and whispered in my ear, "I think American accents are really hot, by the way."
I leaned ever farther away from him and added, "Good to know." Keep in mind Kendall and Drew were basically dying at this point.
Delainee rolled her eyes. "ANYWAYS, Tinley, you want to know who will be at the Peach? Um, Raelyn, Addy, Tricky, James, Charley, Callie, Zach, Noah, Tara, Kendall, Sam, Logan, Drew, and me. I'm pretty sure that's it.."
Nadia and I dropped our jaws. "Well, we sure have a lot of people to meet," Nadia said, practically reading my mind.
I nodded. Suddenly I felt an arm slowly coming down over my shoulders, and everyone started to snicker.
"Hey, Sam?" I said as sweetly as possible.
"Yeah, baby?" he answered in a voice that made me shudder.
"Could you be SO sweet as to get your freaking arm off of my shoulder?" I said, sending everyone into laughter. But his arm stayed.
"And if I don't?" He asked, raising an eyebrow playfully.
I sent him a 'do-you-really-want-to-go-there?' look, and his arm quickly retreated. "Fine. But this isn't over, love," he finished with a grin.
I rolled my eyes and exchanged glances with Drew. He smiled and rolled his eyes as well.
"Well," Delainee said, recovering from laughter, "do you want to head down to the Peach or what?"
"Sure," Nadia and I said at the same time in identical enthusiastic voices. Everyone stared at us for a moment and we all started laughing again.
