“Are you the one?”
Master Edward sits comfortably on the sofa, his legs crossed while he sips coffee making slurp sounds now and then. He raises his head; you watch as he carefully scans your master from head to toe; you can tell he's enjoying the sight before him, probably belittling your master, and the mere thought of that was waiting for you up.
“I’m- my name is Idah.” Master Idah carefully introduces himself with a stuttering voice.
His hands are fidgeting like a child from Master Edward’s intimidation. Talk about low self-esteem at its peak, but hey, at least you warned him, right?
“Hahaha-” Edward bursts into a loud laugh, “Boy, has Roxanne got herself a joke. Tell me Idah-”
Unconsciously you take a step back along with your master as his aura pushes you behind with great force while he rises from the sofa. With a big stride forward, he carefully examines your nervous master who just can't seem to stop fidgeting. The corner of their lips forge a frown, and he leans back.
“Hmm~ I see.” He mutters to himself. Suddenly he withdraws gently, patting Master Idaho’s shoulder. “Well, so long then.”
Your jaws drop open as you watch him head towards the exit. You, along with the rest of your colleagues, all stare in shock, watching him leave.
“W-what! That's it.”
You squeak, completely stunned at your boldness to speak back at Master Edward, so much so that he halts in his tracks and turns around, he looks like he's just as stunned as you were, but then he chuckles loudly.
“What? You thought I was going to eat him? Please look at him, he can't even tell how many fingers I'm holding up. A push from finger and he'd break; there's hardly any competition here now, is there?”
“Master Edward!”
Damn!
Every word uttered from his lips makes you feel as though you were getting stabbed by him and yet there was your master who stood quietly, his face lowered as he took those words to his chest like a pro. Who were you kidding? He's probably heard this much about him at some point in his life, right?
“But was it ever about a woman?” You wonder.
“Oh please! What else is there? I had little hopes, but he's fallen way too short of how little I view other males; I'll be leaving now if you don't mind. See you later, in-competent MALE~”
You watch in silence as Master Eswa heads to his car and drives off, the rest of the staff rushing towards Master Idah, showering him with questions, yet all he could answer while foolishly brimming with a smile was, “I'm all right.” But you, of all people, know how terrible he was at lying now, didn't you?Roxanne’s POV.
Fuck!
How long was it going to take for them to get you a new phone? Despite knowing the nearest phone shop of your brand is quite the distance you can't help but want it faster.
This was a first: sweaty palms, a racing heartbeat, and difficulty breathing. You were having a panic attack, but why? What was making you anxious, you wonder, and yet not a single thought could cross your mind.
“Please, let me inform her first-” You hear your workers tell someone right outside your door.
While you wonder who could be so brave to dare attempt to barge in and speak up, you hear a familiar voice with a knock.
“Roxie I'm coming in.”
Edward! Yes, he was right outside your door, just waiting to be let in.
Deep breath Roxanne, Deep breath.
“It's fine you can let him in.” You say unwillingly. Right then, Edward rushes in, his composure the same as ever and he walks towards your table and sits by the edge while you continue with your work like he wasn't there. That is until he forcefully snatches your face in his hands and your eyes meet barely any distance away.
“Hmm~” he goes. “Did you honestly think that I wouldn't know?”
You pause, your mind wandering all over the place, although confused by his question but all the more bothered by it.
Putting your pen and paperwork aside, you take off your glasses and stare at him.
“What do you mean?” Your question with a bit of anxiety in your voice.
Edward, with a smirk, releases your chin but leans forward so that you can feel his hot breath all over you.
“Mating with a blind man, an Omega at that, keep my opinion aside but don't you think it's a little below standards even for someone like you?”
Your pupils shrink and you jump from your seat at once, “how did you-?” The words frozen in your throat, very difficult to speak and yet swallow.
“What? How did I know?”
He asks you with a chuckle, “My dear Roxanne, being with such a man wouldn't help you in the slightest,” he whispers gently into your ear, “you can't keep him hidden forever; the world must know one day, so here's what we're gonna do.
I'll leave you with a choice; it's not too late. Take my hand as my Luna, and I can let you keep him as a toy or deal with the consequences later, all by yourself. It's entirely up to you.”
You're silent but the thought echoes severally in your mind, when you think about it, there's much to gain than there is to lose, and yet the right choice seems to terrify you, this man right before you sends shivers down your spine at the mere stroke of his fingertips so how were you going to live with him?
Edward notices your confused expression and nods slightly.
He turns around and begins to leave; of course, as a man with few words, it's not the first time you've seen him walk away when he doesn't get an answer.
“Three days, that's all I can offer to you; think about it as much as you'd like if I don't get an answer by then, till next time when you come crawling back, that is.”
Slam!
There goes the door; at long last, he is gone, and you breathe in relief; well, it wasn't that chaotic.
To think the Almighty Roxanne could shiver in fear in front of a man was unexpected.
His words, however, echo tirelessly in your head like a gong; you know too well that Idah is far from a good match for you; you understand what your position demands, and yet here you are, hesitating to cast out a mere Omega.
“Why?” You question yourself. “Why does my chest ache so much? This is a perfect opportunity, a perfect excuse, and yet-”
Casting away Idah, your burden was a lot more difficult than you had expected. You had become a bit too attached to that extra load, you'd be cool if you couldn't spell out why.
Oh, wait! You already are; your naivety is indeed underestimated, dear Roxanne.
