The company was in a sort of organised chaos. Everyone was running around to produce the music of the century if possible. No one spared any expense on their part to make Church a success. Even Jungkook was at the set for hours on end, working with the director, the intimacy co-ordinator, changing clauses in the nudity rider if so required, and all that came with it. It was chaotic yet organised.
The chairman, Yuk Chul-moo, entered the set looking extremely intimidating as he took slow steps towards the unassuming star who was browsing on his phone during the break, before wrapping his arms around Jungkook's shoulder and pulling him back into his chest, much like an older brother.
"What are you upto kid?" He asked in a jolly voice, all previous coldness dissipating off his face.
"Chairman", Jungkook whispered in surprise. "What are you doing here hyung?"
Chairman Yuk laughed as he gave Jungkook a squeeze, "I came to see how you all are doing. My little star will finally make his solo debut. It needs to be like no other. Is there anything lacking?"
Jungkook was quick to shake his head, "No. Everything is fine. We just need to shoot a bit more and today's schedule will be over."
"Oh? Then I'm probably intruding right now. I'll watch from the side, you all can continue."
Everyone was quick to disagree with the chairman, being ever so polite as they assured him that he could never intrude (even though he did).
"Okay Jungkook, for the next scene you'll go shirtless", came the director's voice and soon everyone started to place the props and get to their respective work.
Chairman Yuk had his eyes strained on Jungkook, observing everything intently to make sure the process went as smoothly as possible. This was a big project. They had a lot of projects in plan with Jungkook as the center of said projects. The media and the netizens from all around the world have been in a craze about the youngest. And why not? He was pretty and young. Just 21. The perfect age. Old enough to ogle over and young enough to remain beautiful for a long time and be pure.
As the shooting of the scene ended, Jungkook turned to the staff to ask for a jacket when the Chairman suddenly called him, but he was not alone. He had a woman of atleast 40, right beside him, wearing simple formal clothes. She had long ginger hair and almond coloured eyes as she gave him a small smile. Jungkook bowed towards her, forgetting the jacket as he made his way towards them because the Yuk Chul-moo gestured him to hurry up.
"Alright Jungkook, meet Lorelei Wagner,CEO of Torquea, the German car brand."
Jungkook's eyes widened before he bowed to her again, introducing himself politely in English.
"I'm Jeon Jungkook, member of K-pop group Pheonix. I am a big fan of your cars."
Lorelei smiled as she shook his hands, "Thank you and I am well aware of your identity. I occasionally listen to your songs. It's rather comforting, I must say." Her english had the typical German accent but it was charming in its own right.
"Thank you."
"Well, we were planning on a contract. Figured we can have their newest launch feautred in your shoots and solo debut. Simultaneously you will also be their brand ambassador", Chairman Yuk explained while Wagner smiled and nodded.
"Yes, Mr. Jungkook. We plan on having you on board with us for the lauch of our newest model. Of course this is just a proposal for now. You can think about it and discuss it with your agency before you give us an answer. We hope you view our offer in a positive light. We can then move on to deciding the terms and conditions after that."
Jungkook was quite frankly feeling speechless. Whatever the fuck was happening? The CEO of one of the most well known luxury car brands decided to visit him in person, herself, to just offer him a deal? It was too good to be true. They were just five years into their career. Are bands supposed to hit it that bag so soon? Jungkook really wanted to slap himself right now to test if he was hallucinating or not, but decided otherwise. He had a reputation to maintain.
"I greatly appreciate the offer. I'll discuss this with my agency and the Chairman and will get back to you at the earliest", he replied politely.
Wagner gave him a grin, satisfied with his answer. "Very well, I'll await your response. I'll be in South Korea for quite a while now so take your time."
She bid her farewell, leaving the Chairman and Jungkook together. Jungkook would not admit it but he was definitely feeling a little cold. Before he could turn around and ask the stylist again to bring him a jacket, he felt a soft blazer fall on his shoulders. He turned to see the Chairman who was pulling the buttons of the blazer on his body together, as if to make it fit snugly— even though it was quite big on Jungkook.
"Sorry for calling you here in a hurry. You must be cold." Chairman Yuk was an extremely caring individual. Everyone was aware of that. He cared for his artists a great deal, but it was also no secret that he liked Jungkook a little more than others. Not only because Jungkook was the youngest in the company, but also because something in the younger compelled attraction and attachment. Even during his trainee days, despite his reserved nature, all the seniors seemed to have grown a soft spot for the young doe eyed kid.
"No, it's okay. You should've told me about the potential deal though. I was so shocked", Jungkook muttered with a chuckled which made Chairman Yuk laugh. "Right, I should've but I wanted to surprise you. I know you like their cars."
"Of course I do. A total beauty they have."
"So? Will you go through with the contract?" Chairman Yuk was hopeful, and somewhere in his heart he also knew that Jungkook would say yes.
"I'll talk about this with the rest of the members first."
Well, that was to be expected. The other members were much more mature. They knew better. And Jungkook liked to consult with them before diving into things where outside opinion might be helpful. They were kind of like his big brothers after all. But Chairman Yuk won't take no for an answer anyway. He had stakes in this contract, so it had to be carried out. And he decided to make that clear to Jungkook.
He pulled Jungkook closer to him and brought his lips next to his ear, "I hope the discussion is just about you informing them of the new deal Jungkook. This is big kid. Don't screw it up." With a squeeze of his nape, Chairman Yuk released Jungkook, gave him a tight lipped smile with a curt nod and made his way away from the set, leaving behind a dazed idol who was wearing the chairman's blazer which was a little too big on his lean body.
