Kirya woke to the sound of a heart monitor, the steady beep indicating she wasn't dead yet. Another sound stirred in the air around her - She wasn't alone.

While her eyes had yet to open, she could hear two men speaking in hushed tones to one another. By the sound of their voices, Sam and Dean were to her left and seemed to be guarding the door. Relaxing her breathing, she listened.

"Remind me why we thought this was a good idea? We are still wanted by the FBI or whatever."

"Because Dean," Sam stressed, "Last time I checked, neither one of us are very good at stitching up people's insides."

Dean's muted sigh indicated he had lost the fight. Sam was right, and he hated it. It made him antsy hanging around a hospital with cameras at every angle, just watching. They weren't just hunters like the rest of their kind. They were the best, but even the best got caught. Kirya was just a kid, at least in Dean's eyes. She was young and had a life ahead of her - he may hate what she did to Cas but she didn't deserve to die.

But something pulled at him, begging him to end her life and to drive a blade into her hear. It scared him. He had wanted to do it so badly when they had rescued her from Crowley and she passed out against Sam's chest. To cut her clean open like a turkey on Thanksgiving day. Her red, warm blood to flow over his fingers and onto the floor. To watch the life drain out of her eyes and for her to beg for mercy. The monster inside was waking up.

Stirring, realizing there was nothing left to listen to, the boys became attentive to the girl's groan and her perfected fake wake up routine. The room was startling, not realizing what it had looked like until now and it caused her to sit upright all too fast. The heart monitor sputtered and the wires and tubes went taut against her nose and arms. Big brown eyes fluttered and she took in the images.

They had drawn warding symbols of every creature on the wall. Angels, demons, tricksters, witches, and others that she knew by name. Her eyes searched for one symbol, but thankfully did not find it - they still didn't know what she was yet, even if Cas had told them. They were in the dark, the dark is what kept them alive - for now.

"Hey kid, you all right?" Dean's gruff voice interrupted her thoughts.

"Yeah... what happened?" Her voice felt raspy.

"Crowley got to you. I'm guessing he took you when you tried to leave the other night?" Sam handed her a glass of water as he spoke. She nodded her head in response and thanks.

"Yes.. but I don't remember what happened next."

Her eyes floated to Dean, his adam's apple bobbing uncomfortably.

"He tortured you." He replied flatly with just a hint of anger bubbling at the surface. "He cut you open for fun." The emotion bubbling to the surface faded. "When I get that son of a bitch, we'll see if he likes seeing his insides."

The righteous man was on a wayward path; something in his voice told Kirya that he wasn't lying.

"Where's Castiel?" Kirya said tentatively, her eyes shifting uncomfortably around the room.

"You... I think you banished him, don't you remember?" Sam replied.

She shook her head side to side.

"Kirya," Sam began again, "What happened between you two? Have you met before or do you just not like angels? I mean, we know you're an angel but you're like a different type of angel right?"
