I walked into my social studies class. Mr Matthews was by his desk. Everyone sat in their normal spots. Maya and Riley were talking to each other other. Farkle was ready to learn. Everything wasn't how it should be. The bell rang signifying that class had began.

"Okay class, today we will learn about Belgium." Mr. Matthews looked around Nothing happened. "Well, that's not the response I thought I would get. Farkle? Aren't you excited?"

"Oh, don't get me wrong Mr. Matthews, I'm very excited. But if I show it, something will change. That's always what happens." Farkle stated.

"Well, Farkle, it doesn't look like anything is changing today. Might as well get on with the lesson for today then." Then Mr. Matthews went on with his Belgium lesson. I didn't pay attention to it, though.

I stared at the back of Riley's head and just looked at her dark brown curls. She didn't say a single word. Neither did Maya, or Farkle, or anyone in the class room. I knew this was the day. The day I would say something.

"Mr. Matthews, I wanna do something," I said, standing up. Everyone stared at me. I went into a sort of panic mode, but I carried on. "Riley," I said, turning to her. She turned around.

"Yes, Lucas?" She looked up at me with her big, beautiful, brown eyes and smiled.

"Well? This isn't a Libraray! Speak!" Maya urged.

"Riley Matthews, will you go out on a date with me?" The class was completely silent, just as it had been. I was utterly embarrassed. She stared at me blankly. I decided to continue. "I never get a date with you that is real. I want a real date where we can talk, where we aren't nervous. So," I moved through the desks toward her. I stood in front of her. She smiled up at me.

"Daddy?" She moved her head towards Mr. Matthews.

"Sure..." He said hesitantly. He walked towards the door and opened it, gesturing for us to walk out of the room. "When the bell rings, I want you both back here." Mr. Matthews looked at the two of us.

Riley stood up and gave me her hand. I took it and intertwined our fingers. I had waited for this moment for the whole school year. I smiled brightly at her and she beamed up at me. We walked towards the door. Before we left, Farkle piped up.

"Does this mean I can go out with Maya?" Maya looked back.

"In your dreams, Dice game." She turned away for him as she spoke.

"Oo, nicknames. I see how we're doing this. I've caught on to your little game, Maya Papaya." Farkle smiled at his rhyming skills. Maya rolled her eyes.

"For once in my life I actually want to learn about Belguim." Maya stated, focusing on the board. I looked back at Riley and laughed. She giggled and we walked out the door.

---

"So, what would my nickname be?" I said, looking at Riley. We had went outside to get some fresh air, and I had bought her a few snacks from the vending machine.

"Hm..." She said, thinking. She looked up at me and smiled "Mad Dog!" She laughed, and I did as well.

"Would you ever actually call me that?"

"There actually is a slight chance I would!" She said, giggling. "What would my nickname be?" She asked. I pulled her closer to me and put my arm around her. She smiled.

We stared at each other for a small amount of time. She looked at my lips, then my eyes. I did the same. I put my hands on her cheeks then pulled her in for a kiss. She put her hands on my cheeks. Butterflies filled my stomach and I almost pulled away to smile. We stayed kissing for a bit. She leant away and smiled.

"Don't pinch me," she said. "If this is a dream, I never wanna wake up." She moved her hands to her pocket and pulled out her phone. She started to play a slow song. I recognized it to be Love Me Like You Do by Ellie Goulding. She put her arms around my neck, and I moved my arms to her waist. I kept mine bent, so that there wasn't much space between the two of us.

"Lucas?" She questioned.

"Yes?"

"What's my nickname?" I smiled at her.

"Princess," I started. "Princess Riley." She smiled. "Riley, I never thought this day would come. I knew that I lo-..." I stopped.

"I knew I loved you too, Lucas Frier."

"I knew I loved you, but I didn't know when I would ever be able to tell you. I didn't know when I would be able to show you. But now..."

"Lucas?"

"Yes?"

"I want a kiss again." With that, I leaned in kissed her. We stayed like that for a second while the songs changed. Now her phone was playing Take Your Time by Sam Hunt. I loved this song.

I let go and hugged her. We swayed to the music, and I held her close to my arms. For the rest of the song, we did that. Right before it ended, she kissed my cheek.

"Thank you, Lucas. This date was amazing."

"Riley, will you be my girlfriend?" She grinned.

"Yes Lucas." The bell range right after she said that. We walked into the school building and headed for social studies, our hands locked together.

That hadn't been our first date. We have had more in the past, but they never worked out. They always ended awkwardly. But this time, it ended amazingly.

"My dad is going to send us both to detention..." Riley whispered to me.

"Riley, we are the good kids. He may see you as his little girl, but you're my perfect princess Riley, and I don't think he will send us to detention. We walked into the class room as everyone left.

"Riley, out." He yelled at her. I turned around and hugged her.

"I'll see you after school." I said, hopefully. If I make it out alive, I thought to myself. The odds of that were slim, though. But I still had hope. "I love you," I whispered into her ear.

"I love you, too," she whispered softly. She pulled away and went to her next class.

"Frier, you never do anything. Why today?" He asked, disappointment in his voice.

"Sir, I believe it had to be done. No one was doing anything. I wanted Riley to have a good day."

"I don't mean the date. The date seemed fine by me. It's the kiss that I don't like," he said. How did he know? I felt my face get hot, and I knew it had turned red. "The both of them." So he saw both. Great.

"Sir, I love your daughter. And how did you know about that kiss? I mean... The kisses?"

"Lucas Friar, I have eyes everywhere. Other teachers know me, and they know that I won't tolerate some young boy kissing my daughter. You're lucky you went outside. Because if you didn't, you would have detention by now." Mr. Matthews looked me straight in the eyes. I knew I had to do something.

"I'm sorry sir. It won't happen again." I said. I'd didn't know what else to say.

"It better not." He said, turning around and walking out the door. I was left sitting there to think about what to do next.

((A/N: So this is the first chapter! A lot has happened already! But I need this to be the real kicker so that the story can accelerate a bit quicker. I will have a sequel to this once I'm finished!))
