"We're out of time. Alright, fuck."
Callum snuck to the kitchen, hiding inside of it. I hid round the door to the living room, hands balled as I waited. I could see the silhouettes of two heads on my door, they seemed to be gently tapping against it. I couldn't work out why, and I didn't want to call out to Callum and blow my cover. A cold sweat had suddenly taken over, my body starting to tremor again as I realised: This was it. There was no second chances, no do-overs, no time to heal, this was all I had. The Boss' patience and my time to learn how to control and live alongside the creature in me had collided, and I'd have to work with what I had. I took a deep breath, centring myself back in the room with a resolve:
I'll save every one of my family.
No matter what it takes.
After at least a minute of this, I heard a loud 'POP' and a gentle squeak as something heavy moved against itself. I peeked an eye around for a second, seeing my front door moving against itself, forcing itself open as the locks seemed to relax themselves, the door gently sliding open. Two people, breathing heavy and deep immediately entered as I pulled myself back, sliding away from the door and sitting to a crouch, slowly pulling the door in front of me.
"I'll take the kitchen, you take the front room." I heard Oscar's voice, and another grunt as they slowly took steps, my floor barely letting me hear them. I only knew one entered as he slightly nudged the door, heading towards the back of the room. I took my chance: Stepping out silently, I rushed towards him, time seeming to slow. I could feel my body begin to change, the skin tighten, my face lean back, and my muscles growth in strength as I lunged at him, My face of fury contrasted his shock and fear as my claws ripped into his chest. He didn't scream, shout, or move. He didn't even react as I dug my way deep, feeling his ribs crack and his spine pull apart as I lifted him up, my other side taking over as he took a large bite out of the top of him, removing his head, neck and shoulders. The bones came back out seconds later, the body discarded to the side as we ducked into the kitchen, claws bared and ready. I found the situation, but not in the way I'd hoped it would've been: Callum had both of his hands locked behind his back, Oscar seeming to hold them with one as he held a gun to the side of Callum's head. Both of them remained very still as Oscar let a smirk creep onto his face.
"Callum failed, I see. How pathetic." Oscar snorted as he turned the gun to me, a black suppressor nuzzling itself in front of the barrel. He shot, and I raised my hands, freezing, before watching the bullet bounce off of my friends' face. It was my turn to grin as he stuck the gun into Callum's side, forcing it against his hips.
"Come towards me, and I'll kill him. Stay the hell back." Oscar held his nerve, but I could see him hiding fear.
There is one way I can approach this human without harming the other. But you must give me full control.
Are you sure?
I have just been hit by the weapon he holds. I now understand how quickly projectiles leave the device the human holds. Yes, Adam. I am positive.
I don't like this, but sure.
I relaxed myself, my creature taking full control as it leaned back on it's legs, before springing forward at a speed I could barely keep up with. By the time the world slowed, Oscar had a claw inside of his stomach, with the arm holding the gun removed. His face snapped itself from confident cockiness to pure agony as I pushed the claw deeper. He beat on my arm with his spare hand, but with how weak it was? I barely felt it. I pulled my hand away, before forming a palm, claws outwards, and sent it towards his neck, his head bouncing to the floor with his body falling just next to it. Not giving me a moment, the body was digested whole, no bones or brittle coming back up as I felt it retreat back in me, no more words needed. I landed back on earth, my hands wiping my clothes down as I watched the pool of blood left from Oscar's body for a moment, reflecting
I'm not a good person. But the things I do can help good people. Who knows what would happen if The Boss got his hands on me? He'd rip me apart, figure out how to put me in new people, and the world would never know peace again. I have to do this. Not for myself, but for everyone else involved.
Callum picked up Liam's pistol and turned away, seeming to examine it before handing it back to me.
"Jammed. It should be fine now. Here." He stepped towards the door, checking it before coming back, a gun of his own in hand. He caught my suspicions glance, and covered himself quickly: "It was on the other guy. Where's the rest of him?"
"My.. Friend? He got hungry." I joked, and Callum seemed to take it in good stride, a smile cracking through his impervious features.
"I'll cook when we land, for both of you, I'll make it something real good. Come on, let's go." He grabbed my arm and pulled me out, shutting the door behind him.
"We'll take the car. I can drive. Just keep low, don't do anything strange." He said as he rounded me, opening his respected door and slamming it. I followed, tucking the gun inside the front of my trousers, using my shirt to cover it as Callum let the engine roar, turning it out and crunching the gears, the speed picking up as we flew towards the school, my face turning more grim as time passed.
I'm gonna make that fucker pay for what he's done to me.

Unstoppable: Revitalized
ActionI'd written 'Unstoppable' before, but due to me rushing and the youth in my body, the book seemed to loop and never progress. I think the idea is fantastic, but the execution is poor. And I plan to change that. ---------------------- ORIGINAL DESCR...
